A year ago today I visited the ground zero of anthropogenic climate change, just behind Kinneil House, in east-central Scotland. #SilentSunday

The photo shows a large black cylinder in the foreground and the remaining walls of a small stone building behind.
There are two plaques on the cylinder which read "Cylinder of Engine Erected by James Watt at School-Yard Pit Towards End of 18th Century While at Kinneil and Afterwards Acquired by Bo'ness Gas Light Co

Re-erected at Kinneil 3rd August 1946, Bo'ness Town Council, David Lumsden Provost".

There is also a plaque on the building which reads "James Watt
1736 - 1819
Inventor of the Condensing Steam Engine Undertook His Formative Work in This Building"

Kinneil House, where Watt was living at time, is behind the photographer.

AI is killing All About Berlin. When you Googled something, you used to get a link to my website. Now you get an AI-generated answer trained on my work.

This has a devastating impact on traffic. It's hard to fund my work with 70% fewer visitors. In another year, it will be impossible. Instead of writing new guides, I spend my days preparing for that future.

Yesterday, Google announced two things: AI-generated answers will completely replace search results, and AI-generated answers will soon contain ads.

This is the future of the web. I don't know where All About Berlin fits in that future.
