Genuinely think anyone can “git gud” at any creative craft they are interested in. If we wanted to actually “democratize” art we would invest in housing, healthcare, food and education as human rights. All GenAI does is make people even more financially precarious and less able to pursue a passion
Ed Zitron@edzitron.com · 2y agoI think a bit of the "AI is democratizing art" argument is trying to avoid the ugly truth that to get good at anything you have to do a lot of it. I grew up "knowing" I was a good writer, but I really wasn't until about 700k words, and it took reading hours of scripts to really have a voice

Hey folks, a reminder: Don't use Gen ai. You can either afford an artist/stock art, or you can't. If you can't, you can make your own art/designs or abstain. Or you can cheaper your entire brand and communicate to your audience that you peddle low-effort garbage by using a plagiarism machine.
