These 1979 picture sleeves! If the artist asked for colour artwork, the answer seems to be "which colour do you want?" #gimwr
This was hidden away on Newsnight last night, but no reference to this viewpoint in the breathless coverage this morning.
Very nice to hear a sane voice from Piddington. Serious respect to this woman, who is apparently already being othered by more bigoted villagers.
Evening, and is it happy sixth birthday for @goingindieground.bsky.social ? #gimwr
What a start to #deeper80s ! Only here for 20 mins so will send request via DM soonish.
Thanks Darren and Samantha for the evening's entertainment #DeeperX #Deeper80s
I sometimes think a Netherlands (or wider Benelux) #Deeper80s special would work
There is a certain type of person who can only consider climate change in the context of wine. Tice today; a few years ago, Tory grandee John Wakeham, asserting that "bleak" parts of the country could eventually become vineyards.
No mean feat pulling together this July 1995 playlist for #gimwr I've looked at lists of '95 releases and there is a lot of trance to filter out.
"Yours Is No Disgrace" was played in our house a lot when I was five years old. To the extent that I am still surprised by any song failing to last nine minutes. #ProgAtTheBBC
A missed opportunity at yesterday's opening ceremony, to re-enact this historic moment. #CommonwealthGames
40 YEARS AGO TODAY: "Cue the piper! Play, you bastard!" The Edinburgh Commonwealth Games opening ceremony relayed via another bravura directorial talkback performance from Stewart 'run the roller' Morris.
The ministers on their way out today should have been sacked simply for still using Twitter.
Peak stat has been achieved.
The only previous time that a #CPFC goalkeeper conceded four goals in a game won 6:4 was on Wednesday, 22 March 1939 when Palace defeated holders Reading in a Division Three (South Section) Cup Quarter-Final Replay at Selhurst Park in front of 2,071 fans.

Summer 1980 is a bit hazy but I'm sure we would have had Nicky Horne (Capital) on in the evenings. Rock and some new wave too on his show I think? #gimwr
After Widdecombe and Ken Bates, the Reaper has moved on to a moderate in Antonio Rattin:
It's amazing how many of these early punk tracks were pop hits. I wasn't yet into record buying but my big brother would think nothing of buying singles by The Jam, The Clash, but also Rose Royce and Donna Summer at the same time! #gimwr
#MEXENG was the best away performance by England men in a competitive match since, ooh, Hungary in 1981. *checks notes* *Next match, England lost to Norway* #LordBeaverbrook #SirAnthonyEden #LadyDiana
Thanks Rob! Another classic from the Tyger label.of Uxbridge. More #gimwr requests to follow by DM
Is this focus on an individual month going to be a regular feature? Enjoying it. #gimwr
Dug out my tape from June '86. Mostly taped off the radio - bad person. I doubt we'll get Banamarama or Haywoode this hour 😁 #gimwr
Good evening, thanks for the double #deeper80s shouty - and just in time for Kim's best single
Right. I've got the house temperature down to 21.4. I reckon it'll be a week until it's that low again.
A few months ago, BBC Four repeated a 1982 programme about Philip Larkin, presented by the late Roy Hattersley, with Judi Dench and Alan Bennett as readers. I'm struggling to think of a current MP capable of similar.
Loved Dave Greenslade's work from an early age. Colosseum, Greenslade (band), and solo. Theme to "Bird of Prey" too. RIP.
“It’s a long way from anywhere…” Just heard that Dave Greenslade has died. Currently greatly enjoying again his superbly witty and inventive scores for A Very Peculiar Practice on BBC4. His work on Gangsters too was brilliant, both of and ahead of its time. “We’ll always love you.” RIP.
Just like Saint, we've all had days that make us want to throw a hanky *really hard*
40 YEARS AGO TODAY: Scotland tumble out of the World Cup after drawing with ten man Uruguay. ITV's Ian St John takes the defeat with Zen grace and equanimity.
Just got in, thanks for Via Marconi on #deeper80s , will catch up Monday 🙂
Happy #deeper80s birthday Samantha. I will catch up Monday. Looks like non-stop classics.
