What happens when a watercolour artist decides they don't want to be stuck in a watercolour shaped box and they want to try something new? Feat a fly agaric since it's mushroom season. #acrylicpainting #mushroomart #paintingstudy #natureart #fungi #mushroom

Woah there, forgot you existed again for a moment. Will I get better at posting here? Probably not. Anyway, new Lady Knight print for the monthly club is coming along nicely ⚔️ A4 watercolour #darkart #fantasyart #watercolour #ladyknight

A little portrait ACEO because these will always be one of my favourite things to draw. Painting faces like this just feels a bit like home. Watercolour ACEO! 2.5 x 3.5 inches. On eBay now! ebay.us/m/CHCnRk #aceo #miniatureart #expressionist #portraitpainting #sketch #watercolour

What's the ACEO community like on Bluesky? This is one of three that I have up at the moment that are ending this evening (1 hour!) and is probably my personal favourite of the bunch. Barn owl drawn in acrylic marker. 2.5 x 3.5 inches. #birdart #owls #acrylic #aceo #miniatureart

Some work in progress photos of a new mixed media painting. Watercolour & acrylic ink (so far) on paper. 'Forget Me Not' as a working title. The black really makes it. Although kind of like that bright corner... What do you think? #expressionistart #watercolour #portraitart 🪶

The first time I've ever tried carving text in lino and, sure it needs some cleaning up, but I am SO happy with how this print turned out. The concept, the finish. I love it. #darkart #linoprint #fantasyart

A little ACEO from yesterday! Painting small used to scare me because I thought I had to do fine details... Turns out that's completely unnecessary. Painted in watercolour & gouache. 2.5 x 3.5 inches! #mixedmediaart #sketch #aceo #miniatureart #painting #portraitart #expressionist

Painted / drew this owl to match a few I did last month. Really enjoying birds lately... Watercolour, promarker and micron pen mixed media. Let me know if you'd like the original before it goes on my shop update next Friday 🪶 #birdart #owls #mixedmediaart #sketch #painting

30 minutes of sketching for two of my original Patrons this evening. They can never know what to expect, because I constantly change style and subject, so I hope they don't mind 😂 Watercolour portraits, forget me not and forsythia. #sketch #watercolourportrait #watercolorpainting #portraitart 🪶

I thoroughly enjoyed doing some watercolour and pen mixed media drawings last month. This is one of my favourites. Also unusual for me to use red for this much of a painting, but I love it. #owl #owlart #birdart #mixedmedia #watercolourpainting #pendrawing #birds #sketch 🪶

This painting is about feeling like your head is about to explode. It's called Mind Decay, and was painted at a time when I was experiencing a little relapse of the Big Sad ™️. I'm painting another skully painting at the moment, so wanted to reshare this one #watercolour #darkart #mentalhealth 🪶

That feeling when you finish an illustration you hate and can’t stop seeing all the flaws over and over again… then regret sending it and start thinking you’re the worst artist ever 🫠

A lot of trusting the process to be done on this one. Watercolour, acrylic ink and gouache self portrait. *Hopefully* will be part of a group exhibition. #workinprogress #paintingprocess #watercolorpainting #mixedmedia #selfportrait #expressionist 🪶

I don't normally do little sketches or anything before a bigger painting, because when they turn out like this I don't want to paint them bigger in case they don't turn out so good. Damn, I love this. Watercolour portrait & skull. #sketch #watercolourpainting #darkart #expressionistart

Lino purists look away. . . Did a test print on this, saw lots of chatter marks... Decided to keep them because it looks human in a world so quickly moving away from humanity. Really happy with how this looks ✨ #linoprint #fantasyart #weirdart #eyes #printmaking #stars 🪶

I really have been enjoying owls lately. (And a stray heron in there too). The two bigger ones are on their way to the US at the moment, the smaller ones are ACEOs up for auction until Saturday 🎉 #birds #birdart #owls #mixedmediaart #watercolour #pendrawing 🪶

Okay I'm obsessed with owls and pen drawings right now. This little guy is an ACEO that's now on my eBay, and he's my favourite so a little more expensive than the others (still £8... For original art). #watercolourpainting #mixedmedia #birdart #owls #sketch #aceo #fantasyart 🪶

This little dude is very haunted looking. Kind of tempted to make it into a card with a punny saying like 'have a hoot' or something silly like that. I also don't know that people would buy it. #watercolour #mixedmediaart #birdart #owls #sketch 🪶

The theme for my Feb print club was magic owls, but I'm a little behind on the originals for the couple of people who get them. This one is not particularly magical, but he is cute. Will be finished in pen #owl #birdart #watercolor #painting #sketch #mixedmediaart 🪶

A little original painting that's looking for a home! I painted this deer back in 2020....2021? Can't remember off the top of my head. It was one of three in a similar style, but both the others have homes now and this one is lonely! £20 including UK delivery if anyone would like it 😊

Painted this for my print club and may I just say I love her. I mean it's technically me, but whatever. The colours, the vibes, the petal wings? 😍 It's a bit more whimsical than usual but god I love her. #watercolourpainting #fantasyart #illustration #characterart #snailmail 🪶

How I imagined Vin from Mistborn. I think the contrast of her hair against the pale colours works really nicely, although part of me wishes I'd done some sort of background. Tempted to mock this up as a cover for my portfolio. #bookish #cosmere #watercolorportrait #fantasy #characterart 🪶

Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Sant / Happy St David's Day! We've finally had some actual sun in Wales, and I've noticed a lot of daffodils popping up. I painted this portrait last year as spring sprung. I always intended to make it a floral portrait series..maybe it's time. #watercolourart #wales #flowers 🪶

Last night I released some new art for the first time in a while, this was one of the paintings. It's called Dream Softly, and is loosely inspired by The Apparition by Sleep Token, as well as fantasy, dark fairytales, and dreams. Watercolour on paper, 10x14 inches #weirdart #watercolor 🪶

Today on the easel 🎨 It's been a while since I've done this many 'personal' (ie. Not for commission or print club) paintings. Literally, months. I really enjoyed it, and it reminded me why I decided to give art a proper chance. I need more of this. #fantasyart #painting #weirdart #mixedmedia 🪶

WIP of another acrylic hand. This one is at an angle that I'm less comfortable painting, the palm of the hand has always felt...awkward? Acrylic on oil / acrylic paper, work in progress! This will be released with a couple of other pieces on Friday. #fantasyart #acrylicpainting #paintingprocess 🪶

The final (ish? Might make some changes) painting and the reference photo I took in my kitchen. Now that I'm looking I can see issues, but hey, it's a study. #acrylicpainting #fantasyart #wip #handpainting #referencephoto 🪶

The final transformation, the last judgement of souls and objects

I'm very much a watercolour artist, but I'd rather just be an 'artist' and make art in whatever medium I fancy at a given time. Yesterday I gave acrylics a go (I've tried them twice in the last 6 years). Ngl, I did not trust the process. #paintingstudy #acrylicpainting #fantasyart #sketch 🪶
