Although unable to attend the conference in person, Dr. Ronald Pearlman was honoured as part of this year’s CSMB Fellows cohort. Dr. Pearlman is recognized for his longstanding contributions to molecular biosciences research in Canada, as well as for his sustained leadership and service.
Closing out our look back at the 2026 CSMB Conference in Banff, we again congratulate Dr. Eric Brown, recipient of the 2026 Arthur Wynne Gold Medal. Dr. Brown is recognized for his contributions to antibiotic discovery and antimicrobial research, as well as for his leadership and innovation.

Another highlight from #CSMB2026 in Banff: congratulations to Dr. Kieran Campbell, recipient of the 2026 CSMB New Investigator Award. This award recognizes outstanding early-career researchers whose work is already making significant contributions to the biosciences in Canada.
Among the highlights of #CSMB2026 in Banff was the recognition of this year’s CSMB Fellows, beginning with Dr. David Andrews. Dr. Andrews is recognized for his research on apoptosis and mitochondrial biology, as well as his longstanding leadership within the Canadian biosciences community.

The CSMB Board meeting was held December 5 2025. Board members discussed the work of our Society and planned for activities for the new year. We don't yet know if the CSMB's future includes tote bags, but rest assured, tote bags were discussed EXTENSIVELY. 🤣
