more #gachiakuta thoughts after reading up to ch 21 - i rly want to talk about rudo's arms. (i'm also trying not to get spoilers so i've avoided reading theories online) he is my little meow meow i think... the state of his arms are so upsetting esp when we see him hurting himself in flashbacks and

i know this can be hard to believe bcuz i draw porn, but when i talk to a handsome butch or beautiful woman and then i get shy/scared and throw up bcuz vulnerability and commitment stress me out. all my exes never got a full relationship out of me... my brain never feels safe and my body can't relax

This is part of what I'm referring to with many people demanding stories that reassure them they're a good person. They want the moral instruction because otherwise, rather than processing the reading experience, there's a thrum of "am I bad? am I bad? what if someone finds out I'm bad?"

Tumblr post by graftini:

stories about abuse are allowed to exist without reducing themselves to moral instruction. i think sometimes when people complain about the “romanticization” of abuse, what they're actually objecting to isn't necessarily the way abuse is being represented, but the fact that the representation doesn't provide them with constant moral reassurance. like, there is a difference between “this story frames abuse as desirable or inherently romantic” and “this story depicts abuse in an erotic/ambiguous/complicated way and doesn't repeatedly tell me that abuse is bad, therefore the depiction itself is irresponsible.”

it's kind of amazing that tags work here, i started a fresh twit account to follow doujinshi artists and decided to post the same things here (sketches, smut, self ship), but 0 engagement. tumblr is still my fave since people comment and reply, but wow... imagine a social media site that works...
