Trump vows to defeat "communism" in America by having the government give every US citizen $5,000. At this point, if you voted for the guy, you have to be asking yourself, "Is he a total idiot or am I?"
Being a writer who doesn't use AI for anything, I feel like an Amish person everytime I have to chat with people who use it for everything.
The "We're all trying to find the guy who did this" meme has never been more appropriate.
a post from President Trump: "I don't think the GOP fully grasp how badly they are fucking up right now"
Tim Curry and Dolly Parton both passed away at 80. I wonder if there are any other famous 80-year-olds with failing health...
I just wrote up my first "pumpkin spice" product for a client, so I believe that means Autumn is officially here.
There might be deeper dives into Natalie Harp, but none as beautifully written as this.
Trump’s devoted aide, who is said to follow the President around with a printer, does not seem to be driven by the conventional desires for wealth and power. www.newyorker.com/culture/crit...
I don't know what gender "spreadsheet people" are, but the people still talking about this asinine topic however many days later are definitely male-coded.
The Fox News-ification of CBS in one screencap. Strong evidence that too many so-called "real" journalists are just mouthpieces for whatever regime is in control.
Mainstream media is so unhinged. Gayle King accuses Angie Nixon of campaigning with Hasan Piker, which she did not do, and then instead of just moving on King grills Nixon about her ~hypothetically~ campaigning with Piker.
"I owned the Libs," I think while shitting my pants as my child is ill with measles and my insurance premiums go up and I can't afford the gas to get to the doctor anyway and I try not to think about Trump's well-documented ties to Epstein as his personal wealth skyrockets even as the economy tanks.
The "grab 'em by the püssy" party will not abide any degrading talk about women.
The pearls are being clutched so hard they're turning into dust.
Spider-Man Brand New Day is going to easily clear 2 billion dollars, but is poor Peter Parker going to see any of that cash? Of course not. He just can't catch a break.
Off to the north of Spain to see the solar eclipse. The last time I was positioned to see a solar eclipse in person, I was living in New York City and took these snaps of people viewing it while in Times Square.
It's always the 4% Dem approval that baffles me.
NEW Economist/YouGov Aug 7-10 % who approve | disapprove of Donald Trump's job performance U.S. adult citizens: 33% | 62% Democrats: 4% | 95% Independents: 18% | 71% Republicans: 79% | 21% d3nkl3psvxxpe9.cloudfront.net/documents/ec...
With the ascendency of Todd Blanche to Attorney General, it's official: The QAnon cultists were absolutely instrumental in helping ensure the biggest pedophile scandal in history was covered up. Way to go guys!
People are always like, "These are the headlines you see in the first 5 minutes of an apocalypse movie." Hate to break it to you, but we're not in the first 5 minutes anymore.
I wrote a novel in less than a month. Here is why I felt like it was a worthy challenge to take on, even if the book never sees the light of day.

If only there was some sort of Department in charge of getting rid of government officials that waste taxpayer money.

When a political party like the DSA promises to feed the poor and help the sick, that's really just an insidious plot to gain and abuse power!! Well, anyway, off to church.
Next step: child marriage as a federally protected "right." All the years of crying "protect the children" and the conservative movement has landed at, "Actually, teen pregnancy is good if it produces more (white) offspring." @jillfilipovic.bsky.social for @slate.com slate.com/news-and-pol...
I Thought Conservative Sex Education Couldn’t Get Worse. The Trump Administration Found a Way.
Abstinence-only education is a proven disaster. But the new plan is somehow even more dangerous.

Seeing a pro-Trump acquaintance on FB reposting a country singer's rant against AI data centers feels like a turning point. Don't get me wrong, she's still a racist POS, but if the Left can effectively establish themselves as the party of AI regulation, they will win over a lot of voters.
It's amazing that the Right has turned Soros into the ultimate boogeyman for funding leftist causes (and by amazing I mean antisemitic), meanwhile the overwhelming majority of billionaires (and one trillionaire) are spending their money on propping up the presidency of another billionaire.
Two headlines on the front page of the Washington Post today: * "The Pentagon, sinking billions into Iran war, quickly runs short on cash." * "1.5 million children lost food aid since last July, analysis says" I wonder if there's anything the US could have done differently to avoid this.
Come on guys, it's a bit. At this point, 99% of the stupidest takes on the internet are just trolls hoping to get screenshotted. You can say, "Well, everyone is so stupid, it *could* have been real," but if you keep falling for ragebait, that's on you.
Donald Trump today (probably): "I don't know Andrew Tate, never met the guy. I hear he was a fan of mine, so he can't be all bad, but I don't know who he is."
The Odyssey was fantastic, a film that truly earns the description "epic". Wonder if this is the year Matt Damon wins his second Oscar. Also, random, but Stephen Fry was at the same screening as me. Didn't get to say anything to him, but still cool to see him.
This pales in comparison to the 10000-word "review" of The Odyssey that spent about 500 words explaining why Helen couldn't be black because of a survey of racial preferences in sexual attraction. Somehow that negative review is included in the official Tomatometer score.
I'm going to try to put this as delicately as possible, but LinkedIn, I really don't give a fuck how many searches I appeared in this week.
I don't want to speak ill of the dead, so all I'll say about Lindsey Graham is
I don't know who needs to hear this, but having good politics doesn't make you a good person.
