Im so bad at names but wooo wip wednesday feat Hongjoong's entrance and very important questions

The chain holding him shifted in the beat of silence that followed, tension thickening with the sound of drawn weapons. Even the one by the door had a hand on the hilt of a blade, edging further into the room. None of them moved closer to him though, a thought that settled in the part of his brain that found the entire thing funny, right next to the part that wondered why they were hesitating. They were cautious, evident by the way they kept their distance and refused to take their eyes off of him. Taking him out would get rid of the only threat in the room.

A fourth person entered not long after, stepping past the door guard to stop a few feet in, their eyes dragging over everyone else before flicking to him. They were dressed similarly to the others with the addition of a band around the upper part of one arm, but there was something about them that he couldn't quite place. Something that caught his attention and refused to let go. Maybe it was their stature- smaller than he would have expected- or the way they carried themselves. Maybe it was the way they refused to give him more than a single sparing look before directing their attention to the others.

"What did you find?"

"Take a look at this. What's one of Hyungo's dogs doing here?" one of the ones behind him asked."Better question is why is he <i>alive</i>?" the other added.

"There's no supplies. All signs point to Narae's group having abandoned this place days ago." The first one again, continuing a thought that must have been circling around since entering the room. "So why leave him alive? To die of starvation or infection?"

"Or both."

"Or both. Seems pretty cruel."

"Narae isn't known for his mercy," the small one finally spoke up again, their eyes flicking up and down his body before locking onto his gaze. "How many did you kill to wind up here?"

Regardless if the question was genuine or rhetorical, no one cared what a tool had to say. They would make their own assumptions, spin together some tale that made sense to them, and they would believe that over anything he could possibly say. Besides, he wasn't there to speak or offer his own explanations. He was there to do a job. One that had required only action. One that he had failed. That was all that mattered.
