Revised my Obsession grade on Letterboxd down from 2.5 to 2, because when I was placing it on my ranked list of 2026 release, I felt it belonged below a couple of 2 star films. Inde Navarrette still innocent (and still lifting the grade a half star).

A friend just told me that in his copy of Arrow's release of The Outfit, he got a postcard for Pedicab Driver, which I've not seen, but has been top of my most wanted list for maybe a decade. So very excited.

Amazing news for one of my favourite new JRock bands. NEK! will be opening for Band Maid at their Budokan shows later this year. I'm hoping those shows will be streamed, and I'd LOVE there to be a streaming ticket that includes the chance to see NEK!'s set as well.

Not that excited by The Mothman Prophecies release, but Owl vs Bumbo (Michelle Yeoh's debut), Where's Officer Tuba and, most of all, Mermaids make for a great set of announcements from 88Films today.
I didn't get that far into it on Prime, but the Sakura Ando starring 'morning drama' Mampuku is now on Netflix in the UK. 151 episodes, but only 15 minutes per installment.
New music from Hitsujibungaku, who are just one of the best bands working right now.

She was 1st woman to have a self-composed UK No 1 hit with Wuthering Heights. Bush was born on the 140th anniversary of the birth of the author who inspired her song, Emily Brontë.
Kardi are fantastic live. Vocalist Kim Yeji in particular, so much presence in such a tiny package.

Fucking hell, this is a shock. Once is a beautiful movie, and Hansard (and Irglova) gave beautiful acting performances as well as giving us its wonderful music. I have a copy of The Swell Season doc that I've not watched, perhaps that should go on the list this week. RIP.
