rhythm pools 02 - effervesce is on its way this week. "effervesce", to show liveliness or exhilaration. This is one last party for the summer. No pre-order or singles. Ten tracks at once, August 7 at midnight. And they hit. Plus a Bandcamp listening party, August 7 at 7PM EST. Don't miss it.

At the ends of all songs, I add extra silence based on how long I want the listener to sit with the end of the track before the album continues. I sit and pretend to be the listener, and stop the track when I feel ready to hear something else.

My references are the music I love the most, like breakbeat, hip-hop from the 90s-00s especially, drum n’ bass, soul and funk, jazz and fusion. To learn new genres and sounds, something I would do is plop a whole song in my DAW and “trace” it by making my best approximation of every sound in it

@2mello.net I really have no idea how else to broach this so I wanted to ask you on here, if you'd indulge me, what are your references? How did you learn? I feel so odd asking, but after hearing your little ad lib on the end of "Goin in" I felt like you might be the right person to ask-

New York and California, I'm headed your way! Here are all my upcoming tour dates and fliers in one post. Catch me at Mood Ring in Brooklyn, The Compound in LA, DNA Lounge in SF and MAGWest!

I think there is a real reason why a lot of older creators fall into the AI usage trap. It often happens to creators who were ahead of their time with technology/style in the past, and think this is their chance to regain the edge, rejoin the young folks, be able to complete another project quickly.

I really enjoyed doing this interview with Astrid about my composition for Denshattack and my work's intersection with the rising multimedia subgenre of "grind fiction". Check out the video!!

I had a really nice conversation with my friend Lotus for her new podcast Dialed Indie! This kept coming back around to the idea of picking up artistic "dead ends" from the past, moments where someone was cooking hard but the legacy of meals you'd expect never quite arrived.

okay! I started a game developer interview podcast but I didn't do any promotion because I knew if I did I wouldn't actually do the show lol Episode 1, "Following Artistic Dead-Ends with @2mello.net," is out now! listen/RSS: https://player.captivate.fm/episode/768112e4-2e61-4424-9337-de311989368c/

Denshattack! is out now on PC, Switch 2, PS5 and Xbox! This game is one of the most exciting things I've been a part of with a ridiculous roster of talent, and I did my best to match the energy the other musicians brought with a handful of tracks I'm really proud of.
