Nobel economist Roger Myerson making the case that AI's real risk is concentrating power, and that the fix is accountable local institutions. He names the why. The how is what I work on in AICRIT: oversight that holds when the center doesn't. #AICRIT

A new note considers challenges of AI from a perspective of political-economic theory. home.uchicago.edu/~rmyerson/hu... A key concern: With substitution of artificial intelligence for human intelligence in management, our world may be dominated by larger organizations managed by fewer people.

#AICRIT

There's no single rulebook for AI. An autonomous system answers to many at once, in different countries and contexts, so it can't be fully compliant with all of them. At AICRIT (Univ. of Turku) we work on the honest version: catch when it crosses a line, and leave an account that holds up. #AICRIT

#AICRIT

Glad to be on W, a platform built for trust. At AICRIT (Univ. of Turku) we work on independent oversight of the decisions AI makes on its own: a traceable, source-attributed second opinion, so 'why did it decide this?' has an answer that holds up. #AICRIT
