INBOX: Larry Berg will be announced as the next MLS Commissioner tomorrow. He will assume the role as of January 1, 2027. Don Garber will transition to Chairman. Berg has a big assignment ahead as many are looking to him to take the league to the next level.

After his 200th appearance with the team last night, I asked Keegan Rosenberry his thoughts on the state of Rapids now after all he’s seen and experienced with the team. As always, he gave a thoughtful, well stated Captain Rosenberry answer. #Rapids96

The $17m fixed fee makes Lucas Herrington a top 10 deal in MLS history. If all add-ons hit, would be the 2nd biggest 1. Jhon Duran ($29m) 2. Alphonso Davies ($22m) 3. Thiago Almada ($21m + $9m add-ons .. but actually $0 because Botafogo don't pay no matter how many times you take them to court)

Football reporting is increasingly national and international. Fair enough. The Capital J Journalists scoopsters earn their jobs. Local MLS coverage is a grind. Direct access is our best chance to add value. Limiting that hurts the bottom of this pyramid which is still critical.

The reported fee for Lucas, right now, is $20 million pounds. That’s about $27 million USD. It would absolute SHATTER the previous MLS record for the sell of a center back. That record? When the Rapids sold Moise Bombito for $7.7 million

INBOX: The Colorado Rapids have officially announced the signing of Youssef Maziz. The deal runs through the 2027-28 season, with a club option for the 2028-29 season. Not a long-term deal but it keeps Youssef in Colorado for the near future. #Rapids96
