Recently got a 1992 Walt Disney Imagineering VHS labeled "Mickey’s Surprise Party Tape". I expected generic B-roll, a stage show, or the old cartoon. Instead, it was a private dinner celebrating Euro Disneyland and Mickey Steinberg, Imagineering’s executive vice president, 6 weeks before it opened
Found this internal Imagineering tape called Mickey’s Surprise Party. It came with a WDI executive’s portfolio and appears to have belonged to another Imagineering VP. I have several theories and confidence in none of them. Disney history people: what am I looking at? @lostmediawiki.com
I got tired of TV shows and movies cluttering up my commercials, so I built software that deletes them automatically. Fed it a 4:46:46 tape rip. Got back 22 minutes of ads. The other 4.5 hours? Gone. As intended. Should I release it? Sample: youtu.be/vLCmeiwF9JU

The label says Stingray, ALF, and Remington Steele on a Maxell tape from the late 80s. Also "news about teachers strike" because somebody wanted the local news segment too. Will the label keep its promises or did Mom tape over ALF with Jazzercise? We find out at 9PM ET on Twitch.

Streaming tonight: trueSpace 4.0 Character Modeling VHS. in 1998 someone at Caligari left the trueSpace 4.0 source code sitting on a public FTP server. A piracy group found it and released it. The software is on the Internet Archive. This VHS is not. Tonight we find out what's on it.
I see people ask a lot about how to digitize old VHS and family recordings. Check your local library! This is in Nashville but a lot of libraries have similar programs I respect people getting set up to digitize, but if you only have a few items go somewhere that's already got it dialed in

These ministry tapes are their own little corner of VHS culture and I love them. Post-Cold War panic. Biblical prophecy. St. Peter's Basilica floating in space on the cover. 1994 was something else.
