I have taken a very low quality scan as reference and recreated all the details of the original artifact. This is an Aztec offering vessel for the storm god Tlaloc. It may also be a brazier, so here is what it might look like when a fire is inside it. Rendered in Cycles on Blender

#blender #3d #animation #rigging tip: Muscle bones 1 bone parented to the shoulder 1 to the arm. NonDeformation. Create deform bone on shoulder snapped to both. Then add these modifiers. For Rigify set the pin bons to MCH-Name and deformation bone to DEF-Name. Now shoulder deforms better.

#3d #art secret for texturing Using only a normal map, you can mix together curvature maps to get a gradient you can use as a base for a new color map. The 2nd path is designer specific to add more color variation by shape. This can work in things like #blender too.

I was cleaning up my substance designer nodes when I decided to make a fully dynamic base pattern for a parquet floor that simulates light. Why did i put this much effort into a floor pattern most people think is ugly? I dont know. No one was there to stop me I guess.
