Internationalist based in Cheshire, UK. Strongly averse to irrationalism in public policy but in favour of the same in art and to allow MCFCTID! Admirer of a fine phrase bringing wisdom from the past. No direct donations- already set up thro charities.

My column on how capital becomes a death cult. Faced with a choice between profit and human life, the radical right chooses profit. Then it tries to persuade us that mass death is what we want. It's the new phase of climate denial: accept your fate, earthlings. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Murderous heat, an endangered food supply, decimated landscapes: embrace the Mediterranean life | George Monbiot

As climate disaster stares us in the face, the radical right says ‘Embrace the Mediterranean life’. Embrace death, more like it, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

It's not rocket science! It's relationships! Health is about relationships & this has been completely ignored over decades. Curse of Private Equity Our nurseries were bought by private equity firms – fees are up, food is frozen. Usual PE practices. Build local monopolies, high debt and prices, profiteering, worst services, high exec pay, shareholder returns. Parents/Children abused. Govts do nothing. archive.ph/Yk4Eh

I don't think Farage was ever meant to actually gain power- possibly why the papers are now turning (it would have been chaos). He was there to significantly move the 'Overton window' to the hard right/racist - at which, with Starmer, Mahmood, et al's help, he has certainly succeeded.

Andy Burnham & you Lab Ultras - tell us again how you're not sure if it's a genocide! Tell us that protest to genocide is really terrorism! Your position is as farcical as it is tragic for the humans you condemn. "...One Jewish life, it's 10 million [Palestinians]." www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Correct! The far right, with many millions of $s, is coordinating an international attack on human rights &, with the total collapse of the centre right & the dire weakness of the neoliberal infected centre left, this is a moment of real danger not seen since WWII www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Think our basic rights are safe? In the age of oligarchs and corporate lobbying, think again | George Monbiot

The global assault on our freedoms is coming ever closer to home. Just look at the sinister prosecution of UK lawyer Rajiv Menon, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Total non-story! Reform wasting police time should be the story! BBC dancing to Reform's tune as usual. Shame the BBC didn't make the same noise about Farage, purposefully!, celebrating the 'burn the immigrants' post woman or the 'pure cold rage' incitement of riots. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

How it is not more of a scandal that no UK government since the 1930s has had anything near a majority of the votes cast yet each enjoyed near total political power? (other than internal party politics & legacy laws they can change over time) PR can’t wait!

Burnham so far: OK with him: -5% affordable housing -Legal, contributing immigrants can’t expect ILR for up to 20 yrs -US using UK bases to illegally bomb Iran -drill more oil during a climate emergency But: It’s not for him to spot a genocide or do anything about it (or upset GI Zionists)

Has any interviewer ever asked Mahmood to define the problem she’s attempting to solve with attacks on legal migrants? Asked her for evidence of why this cohort of potential citizens- who have already shown they contribute over years- must be treated as a problem greater than existing citizens

Labs used to tell us that they were forced into right wing policies by the msm so they could have power & make technical improvements v Tories. Starmer showed how unpopular that is.It’s now clear that this is who they really are. They genuinely see immigrants (non-white) as the (replacement) problem

Did you know a barrister is facing jail just for reminding a jury they have the right to vote with their conscience? This historic right has kept trials fair since 1670. We can't let it be silenced now. Add your name to defend fair trials👇 you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/sa...

Labour ultras on blue sky: explain again how Labour are not preparing the way for a truly authoritarian state! All they’re missing is the secret police (à la ICE) and you can be certain that the next Tory/Reform govt will create that.

Miliband is no angel! Part of the worst, most indecent Labour govt ever. But, a good old fashioned reformist with some principles & not bought by fossil fuel; a rare breed indeed these days- no wonder blue Labour hate him! www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Why has Labour briefed against Ed Miliband – is it his success and popularity?

Tories, Reform, fossil fuel industry and some in his party lined up against net zero agenda as energy secretary

Mahmood to continue! Shame on you Andy Burnham! The depravity of the remnant that is Labour Party continues unabated. Any remaining progressive Labour members hoping for decency to return, abandon any thought of that now and leave immediately, there real is nothing left

Sport depends on values. Shocking unsporting behaviour from players & whole coaching team with no dignity- similar to Real Madrid boycotting Rodri’s Ballon d’Or- becoming more common even at the very top. These people set an example to the next generation- disgraceful! But with FIFA in charge…

The ugly face of #Argentina; turning their backs to the deserved winner #Spain. Such sore losers they are. Outclassed on every front, but not man enough to own their loss. I'm happy they lost. #WorldCup #FIFA #badlosers #soccer #football

Laura Kuenssberg, Andrew Neil, and the BBC apparatus which gave Cambridge Analytica a chance to undermine @carolecadwalla.bsky.social’s investigation before it was published, called law breaking ‘rule breaking’, demeaned her as a mad cat lady, and fluffed Farage, deserve all the ignominy of history

Burnham to continue all that is wrong with the remnants of Lab. Complete acceptance of gross immorality(climate crisis already killing/Gaza/imm’)because “msm won’t let us do anything about it”. Abject failure of leadership & total disrespect for the capacity of voters to recog & support a moral lead

Apart from Blair, I can't think of a Labour leader who has done more than Starmer to create division and polarisation. Pandering to Reform on immigration, complicity in genocide, attacks on the right to protest ... Now he presents himself as a great healer. His speech was not "moving" but sickening.

Somehow missed this- very worth catching up on & credit to BBC journalists- need to remember it’s bias problems are often editorial
