#ACL2025NLP BESSTIE : a new dataset and evaluative benchmark for three varieties of English: the first of its kind for Australian English. This Findings paper was led by @dipankarsrirag.bsky.social . collab between UNSW and University of Surrey

This riveting panel discussion has been the highlight of day 1 of #ACL2025NLP for me. The facilitator Prof Hovy summarised the discussion by listing agentd, causal reasoning, small language models and alternatives to Transformer architecture and ambiguity as potential pathways to generalisation.
