From a league source: Twins are getting $3.75 million in cash from the Blue Jays to cover part of Jeff Hoffman's salary next season. Twins will absorb the entire $3.2 million Hoffman is owed for the rest of this year, plus about $7.25 million of his $11 million salary next year.

This seems like a surprisingly light return for Kevin Gausman, even as a two-month rental. It's always tough to compare across different farm systems, but the Twins might have been better off trying to beat this than making the Dean Kremer deal.

Holy shit. Kody Clemens hit a walk-off grand slam with two outs in the ninth inning, down three runs, facing a left-handed pitcher the Royals brought in just to face him. I have no idea how, but the Twins won two of three vs. the Royals. They were two outs from getting swept.

Derek Shelton, as reporters filed into his office postgame: "That'll f*** up some game stories, huh?"
