Do we need to talk some more about why it matters that we CREATE ACCESSIBLE WORK FOR DISABLED, CHRONICALLY ILL AND NEURODIVERGENT PEOPLE who experience chronic underemployment and widespread exclusion from workplaces?

I am not sure I could in 2026 win the argument to keep transcription or closed captioning AI free BUT I am sure as shit committed to offering an AI-free ALTERNATIVE for researchers, authors, and content creators who refuse AI and compromising participant privacy or their IP and want to create work!

“Oh look the LLM has given me some suggested citations, I wonder if they’re made up so convincingly I have to painstakingly check each author bibliography for ages maybe just using keyboards and Boolean operators in my library catalogue or elsewhere might have been quicker, actually”

Was just watching a YouTube interview where they said the result of AI 'research' is just spending hours checking the AI's research for errors rather than doing your own research

⏰TOMORROW: Join our brilliant guest speaker Dr Karen Lumsden for a free live webinar on Tuesday at 1pm, where she'll give an expert overview of the current landscape of qualitative research, and its challenges and opportunities. https://funnels.academicaudiotranscription.com/qualresearch2026

Some researchers rely on external transcription services to create 'gaps' in their research process to build in breaks and return to their interview data with fresh eyes, like our client, Dr Susan Jones. How do you make sure that you take care of yourself while conducting qualitative research?

"I take care of myself during the interview processes by leaving a gap before any analyses. Having the transcriptions produced externally helps in this 'gap' process... I can come back to texts with a fresh eye when I start the process of reviewing and analysing them." --Dr Susan Jones, featured researcher interview with AAT.

Our clients say... "AAT... puts so much effort into creating high-quality transcriptions... I appreciate the detail, confidentiality and respect that AAT practices in all their work."

Screenshot of client email which reads: "I was looking for professional quality transcriptions for a qualitative research study on educational equity. Our research participants put so much faith in us as researchers to authentically represent their lives and stories. I've come to think of transcription as an important way to honour participants, especially when studying sensitive and personal narratives. AAT takes that seriously and puts so much effort into creating high-quality transcriptions of interview conversations. I appreciate the detail, confidentiality and respect that AAT practices in all their work."

If you’re a researcher using interviews or focus groups, a writer using dictation, or a podcaster seeking to improve SEO & access: I’m looking for FIVE projects with 10+ hours of audio needing transcription or 5+ hours of video needing captions across July, August and September. That you? Say hi 👋🏻
