Building measure.sh - a monitoring tool for mobile devs.
CocoaPods is going read-only. Need to convince your team to migrate? Just whisper: “No more easy security updates after 2026.” Works surprisingly well! Feels like the end of an era. Big thanks to the CocoaPods team. Retiring with honour. 🫡
"Open source is dead" feels similar to the Saaspocalypse hype. Before coding agents, execution cost was high. Coding may be easier now but building reliable software is still hard, maybe even harder than before. In most cases, using well maintained OSS just makes more sense than rolling my own.
Finishing up the last bit of polish on our Perfetto integration. Perfetto traces captured from production are now just a click away. Open a trace from the session timeline directly in ui.perfetto.dev. Coming soon in the next release.
Android 17 introduces a local MCP equivalent called AppFunctions. Similar to how a MCP server declares tools that be used by agents, an AppFunction exposes app capabilities to AI agents like Gemini.
Working on some trace viewer improvements for @measure.sh . Runs smoothly with hundreds of spans on Android, iOS, React Native and Flutter performance traces. More improvements coming to the platform soon...

After reconnecting with so many accounts I followed on the bird app, it feels like I’ve just returned from a college reunion where I saw countless familiar faces but talked to no one. Classic introvert vibes.
I spoke to 100+ mobile devs about app monitoring. The pain point? Jumping between tools to find root causes. So we built Measure—an open-source tool that gives you the full picture in one place. Check it out and star on GitHub: github.com/measure-sh/measure #AndroidDev #iOSDev #Kotlin #SwiftLang
