Shortsword, legendary (requires attunement)

Rising from a chainbound grip, this sword’s blade is composed of a mostly transparent crystal. Viewing it more closely reveals swirling figures and shifting facets within, creating an ever-moving maze of twisting hallways. You have a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magical weapon.

While you are attuned to this weapon, when you reduce a creature to 0 Hit Points you can choose to try to jail the creature within the sword. The creature must succeed on a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or their body and soul are jailed within the sword. Once per day, you can use an action to command the creature within the sword to take an action or cast an instantaneous spell that it was capable of using in life. The creature’s soul springs forth long enough to complete the action or spell before it is returned to the sword. Only one creature can be jailed within the sword at a time. When you jail a new creature, the soul of the previous creature is permanently lost within the sword’s maze.

Personality. This sword is sentient. When found, it is possessed by the spirit of a charismatic duelist. She proudly speaks of glorious combat and her many accomplishments including slaying legendary foes.

Curse. This weapon is cursed by the soul of a demonic puzzlemaker and becoming attuned to it extends the curse to you until you are targeted by a remove curse spell. While cursed, the shackle that hangs from the crossguard latches itself to your wrist, preventing you from moving more than 10 feet from the sword. If you die while cursed by this sword, your body and soul are jailed within it and your personality replaces the one that was previously present. You cannot be resurrected by any means other than a wish spell.

The fabrics swirl and flow as if water were passing through them making the entire aesthetic of this robe feel distinctly in motion even when it is standing still. The dancing colors on the sparking scale-like pattern marks this as an item of supreme care and craftsmanship.

While invested in this clothing, you gain the amphibious trait allowing you to breathe both on land and in the water. Additionally, this grants you a swim speed equal to your normal movement speed.

While attuned to this robe, your body fuses at some places to the robe, causing you to grow gills and attach to various parts of the fins. You gain the ability to breathe underwater indefinitely so long as you are wearing the robe. Additionally, you gain a swim speed equal to your movement speed.

Twice per day, while on land, you can use an action to swirl the robe in dazzling fashion, causing the robe to cast fly upon you. You gain all benefits of the fly spell for the next 10 minutes. Uses of this ability reset daily at dawn.

The internal mechanisms of this clockwork bracer are somewhat mysterious as it seems to be enchanted with teleportation magic as well as scrying runes allowing it to communicate with a centralized banking system in another part of this plane or perhaps on an entirely different one altogether. An operational coin slot and buttons on the bottom of it suggest a degree of interactability. An extendable scrying eye and glowing green display provide information about items held in front of it, albeit in a limited fashion.

Activate - Exchange 1 minute; Frequency Once per hour; Effect You spend 1 minute inserting a number of coins into the bracer, up to a value of 100 gp. You can then press one of the currency buttons below the display causing the bracer to eject an equivalent amount of in the newly selected currency. For example, 50 gp could yield 5 pp.

Activate - Appraise 1 minute; Frequency Once per day; Effect You spend 1 minute holding an item of 2 bulk or less in front of the scrying eye. The device then displays limited information about the piece including possible materials and an approximate value. How accurate this information is depends on the obscurity of the item, as determined by the GM.

Appraise. Twice per day, you can spend 1 minute holding an item in front of the extendable scrying eye on this device. After 1 minute, an appraisal giving limited details about the item appears on the display showing likely materials involved as well as an approximate value. How accurate the information is depends on how obscure the item is as determined by the GM. This ability resets daily at dawn.

What appears to be a somewhat standard chalk board with a wooden frame has had leather straps placed on the back of it turning it into a makeshift type of minor reinforcing wooden shield (Hardness 6, HP 56, BT 28). Hanging from the bottom of the shield is a convenient bag of chalk pieces as well as an eraser on a chain. The top of the shield has been fitted with a wrapped handle making it easy to spin the shield to face the user and draw up new plans.

Activate - Playmaker 1 minute (concentrate); Frequency Twice per day; Effect You spend time drawing a plan on the chalk board of this shield. Choose one tactic from your commander’s folio to draw on the board. Once within the next hour, when you Raise a Shield, you can also issue the tactic that you chose as part of the same action. The board then erases itself ready to be drawn on again.

Hanging from the bottom of the shield is a convenient bag of chalk pieces as well as an eraser on a chain. The top of the shield has been fitted with a wrapped handle making it easy to spin the shield to face the user and draw up new plans. While holding this Shield, you have a +1 bonus to your armor class.

This shield has 3 charges. You can use an action to draw a tactic on the chalk board of the shield, expending one of the charges to utilize one of the following abilities. This shield’s charges reset daily at dawn.

Regroup. At the end of this turn, allies within 30 feet of you can move up their movement speed without provoking attacks of opportunity.

Guarded Position. Allies within 5 feet of you gain an additional +1 bonus to their AC until the start of your next turn.

Rallying Stance. At the end of this turn, allies within 30 feet of you gain 3 temporary HP.

Brawling for the entertainment of others is not a decision to be made lightly and those who choose to do it rather than being coerced into it are of a different breed than the commoners in the stands. This helmet is cast from a hardened steel, padded on the inside to make it comfortable for the wearer. A leather chinstrap hangs below to keep it attached and the exterior has been polished to a smooth finish. The visage on the faceplate is of anger incarnate, an anguished face screaming out in a moment of battle.

While wearing this helmet, you gain resistance 1 to non-magical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.

Activate [2] verbal; Frequency twice per day; Effect You let out a resounding battlecry that sounds closer to a lion’s roar than a shout. It can be heard by all creatures within a 60-foot emanation of you. Take note of the number of hostile creatures that heard the battlecry. The next time you would take damage as part of strike or spell effect, lower the damage taken by the amount of hostile creatures that heard the battlecry. If you lower the damage taken to zero, move your turn in the initiative order to the next space after the current turn being taken.

Adorning the crossguard of this massive sword are 3 magicked white roses that smell vibrant and sweet, but with a slight hint of iron. You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

When you reduce a creature’s hit points to 0 with an attack from this weapon, one of the roses turns blood red unless that creature is a construct. The blood roses act as charges that last 24 hours before dissipating. This sword can hold a maximum of 3 charges.

When you hit a creature with an attack with this weapon, you can choose to spend up to 3 charges to inflict brutal lacerations on a creature. For each charge spent, the creature takes 1d6 necrotic damage and gains a laceration that lasts 1 minute. Creatures with lacerations take 1d4 necrotic damage per laceration at the start of your turn and you gain an amount of temporary hit points equal to the necrotic damage taken.
