Mostly in Waterfall, yeah. It was basically a giant limestone cavern, so... It was pretty common for people to unearth that sort of stuff. I spent a while trying to map out where all of the undiscovered ones were so I could take credit for finding them.

... There were a lot of marine fossils back where I used to live, actually. Ammonites, Megalodonts. Coral impressions, and the like.
