We need more of this. The whole six week school summer break needs a rethink. Mum are no longer stay at home mums. We should ditch the long summer break and have terms reorganized with extra one week/two breaks in between. It would help lower income households with childcare costs too.

Very obliging of #r4today to lead with Reform’s ‘plan’ to stop the boats using the Royal Navy, pretending it’ll be some great WWII-style escapade, rather than a hateful, costly, diplomatically incontinent mess. British politicians' eternal vigilance against non-existent supermarket price gouging is amazing, given the number of *real* exploitative business practices there are out in the world that go entirely unpunished. They know it's not happening, too, they just also know it's popular to claim it is.

If the Labour and Liberal Democrat MPs pool their efforts on this one thing, then the Tories will realize they have to get onboard, or have it it done to them. (The minimum wage for care work should be 2x the regular minimum wage.)

We have been saying for many years that the only way to fix care is by all of the main parties agreeing on the same plan. We have a responsibility to work together and a real opportunity to fix it.

"advising" is weak. Actually, it's worse than weak, it's lip service. UK needs to make it illegal to trade with Israeli settlements. Sanctions are pointless; settlers go to the West Bank to illegally occupy land, they aren't fussed about travel to the UK. @andyburnham.bsky.social

The severity of violence against civilians in the West Bank is escalating dangerously, and our Government must take action. I have written to the new Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband to call for him to take more decisive action to hold Israel to account, and to support Palestinians in the West Bank.

The new comms strategy (prioritising direct to public via social media and YouTube over the convention media) is much welcomed and no doubt also part of the bounce.
