Great to spend the evening with the Rotary Club of Yeovil discussing the future of our town, from the high street and the Octagon to the opportunities ahead for Yeovil. Thanks for the warm welcome and the thoughtful discussion. I'll keep championing Yeovil and South Somerset.

It was great to visit ARK at Egwood, seeing preparations for Somerset Art Weeks with Somerset Art Works. This brilliant local charity helps people connect with nature, animals and crafts. In September ARK opens for the festival, with art, flowers and a silent auction. Worth a visit!
I’ll be holding a series of drop in surgeries across the constituency this week. If you have an issue you’d like to raise or need my help, please come along for a chat. No appointment is needed, just drop in. My team and I look forward to seeing you.
Great to attend Farnborough International Airshow 2026 and meet with leading aerospace and defence companies. Yeovil has a proud aerospace heritage, and I'll keep championing local businesses, protecting skilled jobs and backing investment in our town and the South West.
Fantastic to visit the new Horsey Lane Police Station and see the progress being made. Modern facilities will help support officers and strengthen policing across Yeovil and South Somerset. Thanks to everyone who showed me around. I look forward to seeing it open.
Great to spend time at the Bincombe Summer Bash and see so many people enjoying the day. It was brilliant to meet local organisations, volunteers and community groups helping make South Somerset such a great place to live. Thanks to everyone who made it happen!
Great to catch up with Steve Haigh at Radio Ninesprings. Community radio plays a vital role in keeping people informed and giving a voice to local communities. Thanks to Steve and the team for everything you do for Yeovil and South Somerset. Always a pleasure to visit!
It was a pleasure to open the Horton Cross Nursing Home Summer Fete last weekend. Great to meet residents, staff, families and volunteers, and see the fantastic care being provided. And yes, Rupert the donkey was the star of the show! Thank you for such a warm welcome.
Thanks to everyone who joined my latest policing roundtable in Yeovil. We had a productive discussion on neighbourhood policing, antisocial behaviour, rural crime and shoplifting. These conversations help shape local action, and I'll keep working with partners to make our communities safer.
Great to meet the team behind The Magic Dentist to discuss improving children's oral health. We discussed bringing the 'Adopt a School' programme to more local schools to help children build healthy habits from an early age. Thanks to all involved for the fantastic work!
Parliament is now in Summer Recess, but I'm still working across Yeovil and South Somerset, and my constituency office remains open Monday to Friday. If you need my help, please get in touch: 📞 01935 425025 📧 adam.dance.mp@parliament.uk
Our latest casework successes include resolving driving licence delays, securing an EHCP funding review, expediting NHS treatment, recovering a £2,800 utility refund and helping a former Crewkerne postmaster secure Horizon compensation. Need help? Email: adam.dance.mp@parliament.uk
It was great to welcome Lord Fox to Yeovil for a visit to Leonardo. We discussed the future of aerospace and defence, skilled jobs and the opportunities ahead. I'll keep fighting to ensure Yeovil remains at the heart of the UK's aerospace industry.
Great to see Glovers Walk reopened, with the accessible public toilet now open, the fountains running again and real progress being made. There's still more to do, but this is a positive step forward for Yeovil town centre. www.somerset.gov.uk/news/yeovil-...
My statement following the final reports and recommendations from the Independent National Maternity and Neonatal Investigation from Baroness Amos ⬇️
Great to visit Chestnut Lodge Care Home in Yeovil and take part in the home's own version of Question Time with residents. Thank you to Gary, the team and everyone who took part. It was a pleasure to visit and hear your questions and stories.
The recent extreme heat is putting extra pressure on our farmers. In Parliament, I asked what support the Government is providing now, and how it plans to help farming adapt to more extreme weather in the future. I'll continue standing up for farmers across Yeovil and South Somerset.
In Parliament, I raised concerns about poor communication from NHS leaders after staff contacted me worried that Crewkerne Community Hospital could be closing. Staff, patients and local communities deserve clear and honest information about the future of their services.
I attended the APPG for Air Ambulances reception in Parliament to support the launch of a report on protecting 24/7 hospital helipads. Air ambulances save lives when every minute counts, so it was valuable to hear about the steps needed to strengthen these vital services.
No one should face abuse or intimidation simply for doing their job. I highlighted concerns from St Michael's Co-operative, who have reported 100+ incidents of shoplifting a week. Retail workers deserve to feel safe at work, and rural police forces need the resources to respond.
Great to welcome delegates from Italy to Parliament as part of my work with the APPG on Italy. We discussed future collaboration and strengthening ties between our two countries. Strong international partnerships create opportunities for trade, innovation and cultural exchange.

Great to attend Knoll Fest at The Knoll Nursing Home and help open the event alongside the Mayor of Yeovil, Tony Lock. It was lovely to meet residents, families and staff and see such a strong community spirit. Thank you to Jenny and the team for organising a fantastic day.
Last week, I raised concerns in Parliament about the impact steel tariffs could have on businesses across Yeovil and South Somerset. Many local manufacturers rely on specialist steel that is not produced in the UK. I'll continue making the case for our local businesses and jobs.
How Somerset grows over the next 20 yrs will affect homes, jobs, transport & local services. I'd encourage residents, businesses & community groups across Yeovil and South Somerset to have their say on @somersetcouncil.bsky.social's new Local Plan before 24 July. www.somerset.gov.uk/planning-bui...

It's match day! ⚽️ Please support our local pubs, clubs and hospitality businesses while cheering on England. Young fans can also send letters to the England squad free of charge via @RoyalMail's new scheme: www.royalmail.com/worldclassle... Good luck, England!
Great to attend the Yeovil College Shining Stars Awards a few weeks ago and celebrate some truly outstanding students. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees. Your hard work, resilience and achievements should make you incredibly proud. Best of luck for the future!
Our pubs, cafés, hotels and attractions are already facing rising costs and staffing pressures. In Parliament, I raised concerns about the impact a tourism tax on places like Somerset. We should be backing hospitality businesses, not creating new barriers for visitors.
