My tangential link to news of the day is I used to regularly cycle through Piddington on the way to my in-laws and there was nothing to distinguish it from the general 'hills have eyes' vibe of everything around Bicester

whenever I hear rich old people say they wished they prioritised family over work, I imagine granting their wish and seeing whether they like renting precariously in their 70s, or swapping their career to something that requires just as much work but without the same reward

My experience of teaching a university module: - being paid for doing the talks/seminars (3 days), not being paid for preparing the materials (5 days+) - doing the module in November but not being paid until the end of the academic year (September) - ... - not profit?

I don't want to be old man shouting at clouds but every teenager at Reading Festival looked the same. No alternatives. I think I saw 10 teenagers that looked like normal people (i.e. looked like shit). Only one hun.
