Hurricanes forward Marcus Allen will miss the 2026-27 season with a torn ACL, UM announced. Allen played eight games last year but missed most of the season after he was diagnosed with non-Hodgskin lymphoma. Brutal break. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

I was having this argument on the other site the other day RE: the Marlins. The Marlins aren’t bad because they’re a “small market” team in an uncapped league. They’re a bad team because they keep drafting in the top half of the draft and haven’t developed a good player since Jose Fernandez.

A salary cap isn't going to make the small-market teams good enough at player development and acquisition to put together better trade returns.
