1 thing I still don't get about the 9/11 aftermath - Osama Bin Laden, a Saudi, orchestrates a team of 15 Saudis, + 2 from UAE, 1 from Egypt, 1 from Lebanon, plus aid from 2 US based Saudi information operatives. 11 of the hijackers were Saudis. In response, Bush and Blair invaded Iraq. What for?

I haven't watched any UK telly for 12 years, but when I did, I thought Channel 4 had the best news output. Job losses across mainstream media will continue. I don't know many people who watch TV or read newspapers anymore. I usually look at Reuters for current events. deadline.com/2026/09/chan...

“I want to be clear . . that if there’s a pro-independence majority . . in the future then I give him my word that it will be for the people of Scotland to decide that. I won’t hide behind Boris Johnson or any Prime Minister. It should be a matter for Scotland.“ Monica Lennon, Labour, BBC, 2021

“I want to be clear to be clear to people like Daniel, that if there’s a pro-independence majority - I hope that there isn’t - but if there is in the future then I give him my word that it will be for the people of Scotland to decide that. I won’t hide behind Boris Johnson or any Prime Minister. It should be a matter for Scotland. That’s what the question’s about. If people in Scotland want a referendum, should they be able to have one? Yes, they should. “
Monica Lennon, Scottish Labour Leadership Debate, BBC, 2021

It still mystifies me that large parts of the English media (and people) expect Scots to support England in the World Cup. We don't ask the French to support Germany, Greeks to support Turkey or Swedes to support Denmark. Why the pressure on Scots to show allegiance to a nation that isn't their own?

There's been a lot of alleged crimes made public regarding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor since his protection was removed. I'm sure there are a lot of other public figures who would also be in the same criminal boat if their protection/super injunctions were removed too. news.sky.com/story/police...

The former prince was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office earlier this year. He had served as a UK trade envoy from 2001 to 2011.

Allegedly, more undeclared Reform financial donations, this time involving Tice, who, according to this article, threatened the Guardian with an injunction to prevent this report. Donor "Aristocrat Fiona Cottrell" must also be fighting "the establishment" then? www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

That's ITV sold off to a US based company, (Comcast, owners of Sky), for 1.6 billion. The power Comcast/Sky has now is frightening, and a lot of this is due to complacency over the years from other broadcasters who lived in denial.
