Pre-ordered from Jadlam…they say September 🤷♂️…had to be done…👍😊

Wheels on and test fitting the resin tracks. Going for a little sag like the box art. Ended up using the plastic kit parts for the drive sprocket as a) it fits the tracks fine & b) a resin one rolled of the bench, landed on a wooden floor and three of its teeth broke off and disappeared…🤷♂️🙄
I appreciate I have been blathering on a bit about RFM tank kits of late but I like them. These are the five I've completed & I'm working on a sixth and thinking about a seventh...just trying to encourage more to try an RFM tank perhaps...?
I love it when a book leads to a book…stumbled across the ‘Waiter’ one in a chef interview in a recent Waitrose magazine/paper (don’t shout at me!) and that led to me noting the second & on to a recommendation for it too…a nice pair I think…I even like the cover art or whatever it’s called #booksky
This is apparently a new tool kit from Tamiya for later this year…🤷♂️…I think I will be in for one if it is but it may end up being bright orange or yellow…👍
WIP wheel clean up…the parts are beautifully crisp…it has been awfully hot and humid here today…🥵🙄…
Not wanting to hide this particular light under a bushel…this is a genuinely brilliant book on so many levels… #booksky
@adamwatkinson1.bsky.social would just like to say thank you to Adam for recommending this book. I got it for my Italian mother in law. She loved it and is now reading his other books. She sent me a box of craft ales as a thank you !! Cheers Adam. 🍻🍻🍻
Dry test fitting the upper and lower hull…all seems well…👍. Some nice detail on the upper hull for sure…
I would love it if someone made a new perhaps five (ten!?) part tv series about progressive rock…there are just about enough potential talking heads still around to do so…and it’s mostly wonderful music…🤔❤️😊
The Staves version of the genius that is Crime of the Century by Supertramp on this is spectacular…if you have an interest in progressive rock watch this…it’s a joy…
Watched this on iPlayer up to the interval so far. Cracking idea and brilliant musicianship but some of the vocals were a little lack lustre perhaps…will finish it tomorrow… www.bbc.co.uk/events/ed5fbp
I swear I have spent a lot more £ on paint, varnish and other sundries than kits this year…which I guess is a good thing…running the stash down and buying supplies to do so….🤷♂️😊
I have heard that this a great kit…any recommendations for some aftermarket tracks for it and maybe a metal barrel if you have used them…I have looked at Scalemates so am aware of the options…😊👍
Made a start…all good so far…the usual RFM wonderfulness…the best 1/35 scale tank kits in my view…👍😊
Most of us like history, geography, art & other ’outputs’ from what might be termed the humanities & they are rightly well received & discussed on social media. Those of us that have a more scientific background & profession are left out in the cold on places like this really…no one is interested…
Some folks like to see this sort of thing I think 🤔? First look at some of the larger lumps of plastic in this kit. Some lovely casting texture in places and what I am guessing are numbers relating to a process or factory maybe on the rear of the turret ‘W7 516’ 🤷♂️? Anyone know what these mean?
Some Soviet bits & bobs simply because I have just started the new RFM JS-2 🤷♂️👍
This is what’s in the aftermarket add ons…a couple of large sheets of PE, some resin hatches, lamps and covers, some track links and nicest of all is a 3D printed barrel to replace the three part plastic one. It has a metal rod insert, presumably to prevent ‘barrel droop’ in warmer climates…🤷♂️👍!
Both sets of tracks made up now. I like that they also supply 3D printed drive sprockets presumably so that the tracks will fit on them properly. There have been a few occasions where this fit has been less than ideal with some aftermarket tracks when fitting over the kits drive sprockets.
Impossible question really…but if you had to name two bands that have, over the years, provided you with the most joy as a live act…who might they be…I will go for Belle & Sebastian and The Men They Couldn’t Hang…I have to tag @carolinebinnie.bsky.social in the hope that she may help me out here…🥃
I occasionally post my book review efforts on #booksky and there are a few lovely folks who like them and thanks so much. However, I don’t see many attempts (& mine are just attempts) at genuine book reviews…lots of promotion though…so what is the point of the hashtag please?
@jmcn.bsky.social just got to book II in the A Bright Shining Lie audiobook…its very good I think and a massive eye opener already if all true…long way to go yet though…
Just a small reminder about this lot…I’m about to send four or five kits off to them that I have lost interest in…maybe think about sending one or two…think of the shelf space you can then fill with new kits!? www.modelsforheroes.org.uk/donate/

A new read and pretty good so far. Hadn’t heard of him but it looked interesting. This was published in 2017 and he’s had two books out since, one just recently. Will report back… #booksky
Of the masking tapes I‘ve tried (no I can’t remember them all) this has become my go to. Not perfect, none of them are, but it mostly works well when used correctly. It has a nice combination of strength, adhesion and a good ‘edge’…never used it over pure acrylics though (🫣🤔)…might be of interest…
Just remembered that this is my 100th build since beginning the hobby again about five years ago…no wonder I keep having to clear models from my shelves and put them in storage boxes…🤷♂️😊
