As I load the shelves on my new home office, I am being rather forcefully reminder of the old adage that buying books and reading books are two separate, and only loosely connected, hobbies.
Most CMSes and apps standardising on Command K as “Add Link” is a daily boon to my life.
This is it. Last day of primary school for my youngest child. I have my best weeping clothes on.
Good news: I don’t need to sort out dinner for my daughters tonight, as they’re having fish and chips on the beach with the Guides. Good idea: Lorna and I can have fish & chips for dinner, too! Small issue: the person ahead of me in the chippie is collecting 32 meals… …for the Guides. D’oh.
I’m just trying to read a local news story. Do you have to make it so hard?
Does Meta have the stink of death about it? I do think that the company is in then early stages of a slow decline into cultural irrelevance. And I don’t think Zuckerberg is the man to arrest it. And I’m also quite happy to see that decline accelerate. It’s such a nasty company.

The once-and-former Facebook is losing its grip on cultural power.

Should I turn on the GEO features that have just been added to Ghost?

I want to get back into photography, it's been a solid few years since I did much of it. Currently have a really crap Adobe portfolio at aendra.photos but I want to turn it into a daily photo stream; what'd be best for doing that using ATProto in 2026?
The past 48 hours have been incredibly good at exposing who in British politics — and journalism — has no sense of humour. #binface
Let me propose the humbly-named Tinworth’s Law: "The amount of actual good, useful and productive work an individual is doing is inversely proportional to the amount of noise they are making on LinkedIn." What do you think?
Have you read Careless People by Sarah Wynn-Williams? It’s an excoriating exposé of her time at Facebook – and of what the senior management are like. And they’re trying, really hard, to shut her up. Don’t let them. #ReadCarelessPeople

A year on, the author of the best Facebook exposé is still being silenced by the company

All clear on the eye. Retinal tears successfully sealed. No sign of new damage since. Now just healing. The end is in sight.
