Last night I ran the Ivybridge 3 Tops on Dartmoor, a proper, no-frills fell race, massive ups and downs, off-piste running, picking your own lines etc. Mad, intense fun. I was questioning my life choices halfway up Ugborough Beacon, but then it was downhill for the last 4km, which was a ride.

I have to say, it's making me feel a little insane hearing commentators say Ed Miliband shouldn't be chancellor because of his "ideological zeal" for Net Zero, in a week where temperatures are so extreme that my kids are being sent home early every day and it's regularly 30 degrees inside my house

Beautiful 17-mile run along the River Avon today, following it all the way to the sea, with pals Ed and Didac for company. South Devon in all its splendour.
Went for a midday run on Tuesday and then straight to the beach, where I didn't wear a hat or bring any water. I'm usually fine with the heat - I actually love it - but I overestimated my powers and the next day came down with heatstroke. Lesson learned. Hopefully. Stay hydrated, people.
No offence to any Christian Rock fans out there, but saw this on Threads and, yep, just about nails it ...

Strava seems to be down. Has it melted? I have after a lunchtime run just now
Depending on your world view, you can see the slow times (on the track at least) at the Enhanced Games and think either: A, the drugs clearly don't do much after all and real competition and effort is key. Or, B, clearly everyone is already doping, that's why taking PEDs made no difference.

Still buzzing after our 33-mile (53km) run across Dartmoor on Saturday. It’s becoming something of an annual pilgrimage, a ritual, a homage to this wild, barren landscape, a celebration of its bluebell-strewn woodlands and craggy tors. We’ll be back again next year. See thewayoftherunner.com
I'm terrible, when I've got a Zoom call coming up - even if it's just a friendly one - I can't get anything done for at least an hour beforehand. It's like I'm just stuck in a waiting room of my own creation. (I have a feeling that's a common trait among introverts.)
