Almost every environment in Heartworm was based on places in my life/photos I took there. Was looking through old photos today (this is from ~2013), for example:

Can't believe its been a whole year. This game is *so good*
Heartworm came out one year ago today 🖤🪱📸 Thank you to everyone who played and supported us over this past year. I'm so glad we were able to share it with you, and that it resonated with so many people.
Happy Birthday Heartworm! This game is pretty special to me. It inspired my first PSM homage which kicked my art career into gear! If it weren't for @adinolfi.bsky.social and others in the community being cool enough to share it with their audience, I might not be doing this today!
Hell yeah, play this great game!
I was ready for the PS1 and PS2 era nostalgia this survival horror game would bring, but I never expected it to remind me of the most divisive Silent Hill
Now Playing | Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Fatal Frame collide in Heartworm, a retro-styled survival horror that shocked me with how effective a simple camera flash can be

in light of nothing in particular - i'm working on a digital card game with its own universe that I can *guarantee* you I will never abandon in exchange for financial gain!
opened an old prototype to see if i could fix some things - dynamic split screen/merging here when players are in the same camera zone
Wanted to see if I could improve Heartworm's faux-prerender effect after not thinking about it for a long time
it turns out StarBourne as a name is close to two games that exist, so I have to come up with a new one. it's driving me a little crazy while stuck in my head so I threw up some ideas and treatments on patreon (free) with a poll if anyone can help me 🥺
Working on controller support - full analog movement based on the best implementation I have used
i am on such a crazy productivity tear irt game dev and i know the inevitable "i am the least creative person who has ever existed" crash is going to be unprecedented
Exploration -> combat in my new Shandalar-like
i'm actually making this game btw
Accidentally went infinite in playtesting.
Tried to make a basic but visually pleasing deckbuilder for theorycafting/sharing decklists outside the game
anyone want to do a big box physical release for Heartworm?
Not done this game yet (not even that far in ngl) but it passes the vibe check more than some of the og Survival Horror games imo. Also has like top 3 soundtracks in the genre and I genuinely mean that. Buy this game dawg!!!
Heartworm is 33% off in the summer sale btw - if you haven't picked it up yet, now's a great time. Also we're close to 500 reviews, if you've played and haven't left one it would be a huge favor to me if you did!
Highly recommend Hearthworm! Love letter to the genre, sound and looks great AND works on Steam Deck.

the past ~6 months I've been working on StarBourne: a trad. roguelike with deep tactical deckbuilding combat set on a dark fantasy planet that is secretly a cosmic prison. Think Shandalar meets Caves of Qud. Still early. Playtests will happen soon in my discord. Would you play?
would you watch a video on this?
I accidentally did the wrong templating thing and the enemy got stuck in a loop lol
Added tweening to movement finally to make it less stiff. Also fixed my lighting model finally, both of these hadn't changed much since i started this last year (and was initially planning for a true trad roguelike)
I haven't opened after effects in a long time but I've been debugging enemy behavior for like 3 days straight so this was a good brain cleanse
