It seems like a dune climb is an obligatory part of every International Conference on Aeolian Research (ICAR). Here are some participants in ICAR XII-Namibia climbing a Namib Desert dune. (Photo by Yemi Adebiyi)

ISAR was created to promote contacts among scientists undertaking research in aeolian processes and landforms, stimulate scientific research in aeolian topics and related fields, and to further the application of the results of such research into practice.

Is everyone ready for the International Conference on Aeolian Research coming up starting this upcoming Sunday in Namibia?
This was at the International Conference on Aeolian Research in Mibura, Australia, a decade ago
It was ten years ago today that I revealed the dangers of SPONTANEOUS HUMAN SALTATION to the world. Sadly, not everyone has gotten the message.
For those interested in submitting a proposal for the next ICAR, we ask you to reach out ASAP (admin@aeolianresearch.com). Email us to express your interest, and we will follow up with additional details about the process and expectations. Deadline to indicate your interest is 1 week before ICAR.
ICAR 2026 in Namibia is less than a month away! Here's the updated conference schedule: www.geog.ox.ac.uk/events/icar2...

Interesting talk about the decline in dust activity in East Asia since the 1970s, now documented by a lot of research but still surprising to a lot of people. I tend to see the decline in strong wind frequency in source areas as a key factor, but I will be interested to see what Jimmy Li has to say.
