Aeronaut

A Bluesky app designed and built for Mac. Now available in the Mac App Store. https://apple.co/4qHQW2Q

Aeronaut 1.16 is now available and adds support for curation lists. You can browse lists belonging to other people and save them to your feeds, and you can create, edit, and delete lists of your own. Feedback welcome!

Aeronaut 1.14 is now available. This release makes use of the higher image upload limit announced yesterday by Bluesky. Your images are now less likely to be compressed to potato quality, so updating is recommended! 1/2

Aeronaut 1.8 is now available with a fix for viewing full-size images—apologies for any inconvenience! Also in this version: • The Activity and Mentions tabs now have a button to mark all as read • List feeds can now remember your place and restore it when you switch back 1/2

Unfortunately changes to Bluesky’s image CDN have broken full-size image previews. The good news is that I’ve already submitted an update with a fix to the App Store and requested an expedited review. Depending on whether that request is accepted, it should be available in a few hours to a day.

Aeronaut 1.7 is now available! Highlights: • Share text and links from other apps and they’ll appear right in the post composer (support for sharing images to follow) • 25+ new keyboard shortcuts! Cycle tabs, feeds, accounts, change text size, like posts, follow users, and lots more… 1/3

Aeronaut 1.6 is now available. This release adds support for selecting list items with the keyboard! • ▲ or K to move selection up • ▼ or J to move selection down • ↵ to perform the default action • ⌘J to go back to the selected item if you’ve scrolled it out of view • ⌘+click to deselect 1/2

Aeronaut 1.4 is now available! Includes support for following feed settings (turning off reposts/replies/quote posts), scrolling with the spacebar, and a setting to control whether GIFs auto-play. Also fixes three finger swipes to go back using the wrong direction, and a couple of other bugs.

Apologies to all who were affected by the session expiry bug! Ideally I’d reset the trial periods of all affected, but the App Store doesn’t allow that. So instead, if you experienced the issue and started a trial before today, you can grab an extra free week. 1/2

Aeronaut 1.3 should be rolling out to the App Store now! It’s mostly bug fixes—including a comprehensive fix for the session expiry issue—but I also snuck in tab switching keyboard shortcuts, so you can now switch tab with ⌘1 through ⌘8. 1/2

Aeronaut 1.2 should now be rolling out. I’m hopeful that it might resolve this issue, though since I’ve never managed to get it to happen myself I can’t be sure. Thanks to all for your patience whilst I try to get to the bottom of this!

Had a couple reports of users being logged out shortly after setting up the app. Aeronaut doesn’t use analytics or user tracking for privacy reasons, so if you experience this, please let me know—it’ll help me understand how widespread the issue is and track down the cause. Thanks!

TestFlight testers: a new build is now available which adds full support for mute words. Thanks so much to those who were patiently awaiting this feature!
