I am enjoying Dune Messiah a lot more than Dune tbh. The loose episodic style works really well to tell a story that unfolds over a longer time period where the exact time spans aren't that important but the relationships between characters and institutions are.

Many invoke the Butlerian Jihad from Dune when talking about resisting "AI" and as a metaphor that works, sure. But it should be noted that the thing in Dune goes much further. In the Empire of Dune owning as much as a calculator is punishable by death.
