The Shape of Football

Canadian & African football content. Talented teams, questionable Federations. My posts are always ill timed. It's weird posting about sports when you see the world burning every else, i will grab my pale. linktr.ee/afri_cans
Since Ghana beat Canada, i must now hope that SAMOA a team that has conceded 24 goals only concedes 2 for any hope for Canada to play *checks notes* Germany -Mexico beats Australia since i don't see Chile beating Spain. Then again i didn't have Nigeria Beating North Korea. My life... #U17WWC2026

the double edge sword of seeing a Canadian W17 WNT playing a back 3 and being excited to see them do it, just to have them push their wingbacks so far up the pitch, Brazil left the game with a half dozen goals...

That was a game… I’ve lost 2 hours of my life and learned nothing … ok that’s a lie I confirmed one thing I already knew…2 things…actually a few….
Every time I see Haiti get to play in front of a home crowd, it makes me smile
For those wondering the WWC playoff Prelim round fixtures...here they are
It’s Infantino handing it off to Jill ellis that’s doing it for me 🙄😒
its 1-1 in the #CANW17 vs USA side. *hydration break* lots to take a way. enjoying it so far. but HOLY SET PIECE DEFENDING!!!
Grace Asantewaa to Tigres! NWSL isn’t the only league scouting WAFCON
@socratescousin.bsky.social how are we feeling??
How much does CAF ruined me? I am re-watching the Morocco sequence that led to PK and making sure no Cameroonian players left the pitch you know just in case a decision DOESNT get switched in three months.
Cameroon (and Benfica's) Michaely been a big problem goalkeeper for Nigeria. very solid performance from her
WAFCON notes for MD3 Group A MD3 Senegal vs Morocco Kenya vs Algeria Morocco have H2H on KEN & ALG Algeria have H2H over SEN -MOR win/draw = 1st -SEN win = SEN top the group MOR 2nd -Draw = 2nd place with Kenya win -KEN win vs ALG & SEN Loss = 2nd -ALG win/draw = 2nd
I for one would love the chaotic final group day in group C where Zambia must defeat Malawi or risk not moving on the WAFCON quarterfinals. Now that only works if Nigeria defeats Zambia later today…so Go team chaos
Again teams can loose, but it’s how they are looking that has me more surprised then anything. Also shout out to the Ivorians. They were given a second life, and they’re taking full advantage of it

Stars of WAFCON: Yvana Makana Yakana
Yvana Makana Yakana stood out while playing right wing-back for Cameroon in their 2–1 victory over Mali in the opening round of WAFCON 2026…

Algeria 4141+staying tight on Morocco pivots and wow no shots r happening. They do well cutting pitch in half when they press too Adjabi comes across and bam. Sometimes a midfielder can step up next to her and they can go 442, sometimes drop and 4231 it’s a decent enough approach.
With both South Africa and Nigeria, losing their first games not only makes their pathways difficult, but now might make the quarterfinal WAFCON games juicier. Also, whoever had Malawi and Tanzania as possible quarterfinalist after match day two, slide into my DMS I have some financials to discuss
Nigeria 1-3 Malawi 90+5' TEMWA HAS HER BRACE! Upset converted. And a nice lofted half volley for Temwa Chawinga, who plays for Kansas City Current in the NWSL Her 5th shot of the match
I had a creator on the channel Talking about how he was concerned about Nigeria and their preparation. Don’t get me wrong, Malawi have made the game difficult for the Super Falcons, but Nigeria look like a team not on the same page. #wafcon2026
Benin's WNT are sitting at home asking why they were not given an invite... 2-0 Zambia over Egypt
