Lawyer, law librarian, professor, nerd, BBQ seeker, unabashed car singer.

A great thing about my new city is that I can wait outside for public transport to work and not feel like I am sitting in a sauna on the surface of the sun.

I had occasion to revisit this book today and cannot tell you how much I want to force everyone in education to read this work. A pedagogy of kindness is not about being nice or soft. It is about attending to justice, believing people, and believing in people. First step? Kindness to ourselves.

A book cover filled with a multitude of open umbrellas in a rainbow of shades. The book is A Pedagogy of Kindness by Catherine J. Denial.

Two women stopped me and complimented my sneakers during my commute this morning “Oooooo, I love your shoes. They are hot!” I’ll be riding this high for the next week.

For many reasons, this is my most challenging semester as a law librarian to date. But you know what makes life better? The students! Whether in my classes (omg they are awesome) or just around the law school, they are thoughtful, eager to learn, and just good folks.

Half of my profession may be at the annual conference but I’m in a feud with the world’s loudest cricket. They are under a display case in the library and have thwarted attempts to escort them out.

Today’s agenda: Monaco F1 ✔️ EPL all the games - in progress French Open - in progress Indy 500 - soon Nascar- can I stay awake for the end? Sports chaos day.
