if you gave a lady who was the historical model for a trad wife a time machine and five grand buddy they are OUT of there

I am not emotionally or professionally prepared for tomorrow to be August. What do you mean classes start soon????
A great thing about my new city is that I can wait outside for public transport to work and not feel like I am sitting in a sauna on the surface of the sun.
Never ever talk to the police. End of story.
One last thing: I often see people saying things like ‘never talk to the police without a lawyer’ and a lot of people don’t have lawyers and are like, what should I do? The answer is that you should not talk to the police at all.
I had occasion to revisit this book today and cannot tell you how much I want to force everyone in education to read this work. A pedagogy of kindness is not about being nice or soft. It is about attending to justice, believing people, and believing in people. First step? Kindness to ourselves.
Two women stopped me and complimented my sneakers during my commute this morning “Oooooo, I love your shoes. They are hot!” I’ll be riding this high for the next week.
Welcome new followers! We love it when @gregpak.net brings us new friends! For those who don't know, we're an auction running July 1st - July 5th to benefit Vote Riders & The Southern Coalition for Social Justice, because we believe in voting rights! Learn more at www.romancingthevote.com
Starting to look for the good vintage/consignment/thrift stores near Baltimore/DMV. Any recs? @actualkatherine.bsky.social
Last Stop Larrimah is every small southern town’s petty feuds turned to 15 and set in the Australian Outback. I have read murder mysteries with far fewer motives and suspects.
I love the chaos and drama of EPL promotion and relegation fights. A++ sporting time.
At least it wasn’t the powdered creamer which I now know is an extremely flammable substance thanks to @deannaraybourn.bsky.social Killers of A Certain Age.
A Wawa sugar container became a weapon in a bizarre argument between customers at the convenience store, cops say.
Come for the legal writing smackdown, stay for the music recommendations. Never heard of Nathan Evans Fox before this morning and now I have his song stuck in my head. It’s a cousin song to Childer’s “Bitin’ List”
Try as we might, we don’t think we’d ever reach the level of petty disdain that is oozing from these footnotes in this judge’s opinion. www.courtwatch.news/p/166-good-l...
This! People aren’t always trying to game the system but we are asking too much of them. We can’t be excellent teachers, great researchers, and produce 2-3 articles a year without something collapsing.
This whole boondoggle with fake citations is reminding me of fourth grade. In fourth grade, my teacher made us read books (OK) and fill out book report forms (also OK). There were no official deadlines on doing book reports--I think maybe a fairly low minimum number to do for the entire year. (1/)
Excited to teach Admin Law research on the first day of a govt shutdown! Y’all! Really?!
For many reasons, this is my most challenging semester as a law librarian to date. But you know what makes life better? The students! Whether in my classes (omg they are awesome) or just around the law school, they are thoughtful, eager to learn, and just good folks.
Just had some deviled egg tostadas and feel like I have reached a new level of comfort junk food.
You know what I heard on the Classic Rock radio station in my town? A song from Matchbox20’s 3rd album. I am mortally wounded.
It is feeling less like late July and more like mid-August in my library right now. This is going to be a heck of a semester, isn’t it?
Half of my profession may be at the annual conference but I’m in a feud with the world’s loudest cricket. They are under a display case in the library and have thwarted attempts to escort them out.
Not only does Seamus and Courtwatch give me the best hypo fodder but the musical recommendations are top notch! Love surprise Josh Ritter and Tyler Childers in my work inbox.
"The charging documents, which haven't been previously reported, show an international and US law enforcement operation is targeting smugglers in China, Australia, Vietnam, Turkey, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and the United States." www.courtwatch.news/p/133-intern...
Is there anything more American than setting off too many pyros at a sportsball game and making the game too hazy to watch?
Today’s agenda: Monaco F1 ✔️ EPL all the games - in progress French Open - in progress Indy 500 - soon Nascar- can I stay awake for the end? Sports chaos day.
My favorite teaching tactic is to sneak names of soccer players into my hypotheticals. Today’s hypo has an Uncle Mo.
I’m glad my personal sports nightmare is over and Salah is back at Liverpool.
It’s a normal part of writing but I’m in the “This is the stupidest idea ever” stage of writing and it is horrible.
