Program Director @ NSF managing the Developmental Systems Cluster. Researcher with C. elegans lab at Howard Univ (HBCU). All comments reflect my own opinions.

Common NSF proposal submission question: Q: When should I submit if the solicitation has no deadline? A: Submit the proposal when it is ready to submit. Take the time to have a colleague outside your immediate research area look it over for clarity and feasibility.

The #1 piece of advice I give to people considering applying for NSF funding... *** Talk to a Program Director *** We are not scary. I promise. Our job is to help figure out the best place for your research to be reviewed at NSF. If you email & don't hear back within a week, please email again!

If you are going to #ABRCMS2024 in Pittsburgh stop by the NSF Bio Booth! We'll have tons of info for anyone interested in applying to NSF... that includes all you faculty in attendance! We're also doing an NSF101 professional development session today (11/13) from 5:15-6pm in CC401-402.
