We're interested in hiring a post-baccalaureate research associate to work in circuit and systems neuroscience studies of anxiety. Please reach out - my email is listed at kayelab.com - if interested or share with undergraduate/recent grads who may be interested.
Now that I’ve had the chance to share the news with my collaborators (and time to accept it’s real) I’m so excited to share my K99/R00 award was funded! I plan to use pupillometry, NE/ACh/ calcium recordings, & virtual reality to study the effects of arousal on visual processing of threat stimuli.
Grateful to have our lab's work presented on the circuits in innate threat and psychedelics presented at ACNP! Happy to have joined ACNP as an Associate Member this year, which is a great psychiatric neuroscience community. Thanks to @sstaszko.bsky.social and Sarah Jefferson who led the work.
Our latest study identifies a specific cell type and receptor essential for psilocybin’s long-lasting neural and behavioral effects 🍄🔬🧠🧪 Led by Ling-Xiao Shao and @ItsClaraLiao Funded by @NIH @NIMHgov 📄 Read in @nature.com - www.nature.com/articles/s41... 1/12
Psilocybin’s lasting action requires pyramidal cell types and 5-HT2A receptors - Nature
A pyramidal cell type and the 5-HT2A receptor in the medial frontal cortex have essential roles in psilocybin’s long-term drug action.

I have successfully finished my PhD in neuroscience and I am stoked to announce that I am starting my postdoctoral work in the Kaye Lab at Yale University in a few days! I will continue to study the neurobiology of psychedelics there. Exciting things ahead!
Exciting opportunity at the Kempner Institute @ Harvard, to be an independent Fellow doing research at the intersection of AI and #neuroscience (broadly construed). Please spread the word! Drop me an email (it's easy to find - eg in the lab website listed in my profile) if you want clarification.
