This was the perfect movie for a rainy bank holiday Monday. Superb blackly comic action movie. Not everyone was a fan of Ben Wheatley's Free Fire but I was and this is very much in that vein with a dash of the original Assault on Precinct Thirteen and even Kill Bill and High Noon. Highly recommend.

Last weekend at Forest Fest Deacon Blue pulled a superb musical joke. In the full-tilt momentum of one of their songs, maybe Wages Day, the music abruptly stopped dead, Ricky Ross shouted “hydration break”, swigged some water, and the song kicked off again. Excellent dig at that World Cup insert.
The Odyssey has a basically episodic structure. For example, the final episode could be entitled “the perils of a Penelope pitstop”

I am a huge fan of Apple computers but even I can’t believe Christopher Nolan made the Odyssey entirely using iMacs. Wow.
A friend of mine told me he parked his car somewhere under trees and came back and it was covered in messy sap and was very annoying to remove. I told him I knew how to identify the kind, and recommended a What Sap group I know of. He may have smacked me.
