Open-Weight != Open-Source Open-Model means nothing. Open-Weight could be proprietary and having license. Open-Weight > Closed-Weight because you can own your data and infra.

I'm still new to this, but I find this insane that I can easily cross-compile #Rust from Linux to Windows, but not to macOS. And yet, people still claim macOS is the ultimate dev-friendly OS.

People give an LLM a couple of basic prompts to generate a generic task or project (something already baked into the training data, like a game or any open-sourced app), and think they've unlocked magic...

Token sellers (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) will become more and more like hyperscalers (AWS, Google, MS). Just like solution architects, they will have an army of tech people attached to the sales department who will implement AI in companies and build customer loyalty to drive token consumption.

Okay, I think I'm skeptical about Tangled for now. The business model and founders' vision are a bit too obscure for me.

6 months now since I started a complete migration from Google to Proton. I have absolutely no regrets and don't miss any Google services at all (mail, calendar, drive). In addition, I now have Proton Pass and VPN, and I can't imagine living without them. Next step: Switch away from Android.

Linus: "AI is a tool, just like other tools we use. And it's clearly a useful one." AI fanatics: "Oh, Linus validates my useless slop code." In the end nothing has changed. Slop coders are just the new code monkeys on steroids.

Node > Bun (in zig or rust) If high-perf is needed, JS is not the right tool. Give a boy a hammer and everything he meets has to be pounded.

It's so frustrating to see coding agents either turning into white elephants or remaining too primitive to actually use. I'm also uncomfortable installing many plugins to make it good, because of their dispersed quality and the risk of supply chain attacks.
