“God hardened Pharaoh’s heart.” Most people stop there. But Exodus shows Pharaoh hardened his own heart five times first (Exodus 8:15, 8:32, 9:34). The divine hardening from Exodus 9:12 onward followed what Pharaoh had already freely chosen. The sequence matters.

The blood on the Passover doorpost wasn’t magic. Exodus 12:13: “When I see the blood, I will pass over you.” Protection came from identification with the lamb — from being found, at the moment of judgment, inside a house marked by the blood of a substitutionary death. Paul calls this the template

No Egyptian record corroborating the Exodus has been found. But Egyptian records were royal propaganda designed to suppress defeats. The loss of an army in the sea is exactly what they would have hidden. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
