First #WIPWednesday in a looong time A little preview of my Matz + Yunho kinktober oneshot ✨

A fic snippet reading:

Hongjoong drifted closer to the couch, extending a hand to brush at Seonghwa's unstyled hair. "I texted you that we were coming over. You didn't see it?"
Glancing up at Hongjoong, he took his phone out of his pocket and tapped on the screen, illuminating the few missed texts he received from Hongjoong telling him exactly who was coming over and why. A wave of heat rushed to Seonghwa's face as he read:
Hongjoong
I know you're going to be alone tonight. I'm coming over and bringing someone to help keep you company. He's told me how much he'd love to play with you.
We'll be over in around a half an hour.

I hope this reaches you before your birthday. I have been thinking of you rather often this month, but I have only just found the time to write. Do you remember the night we saw the glow-worms? I have never seen so many before. Whenever I see the lamplighters, I remember you making that lantern.

It is strange to think that when I see you in July, you will be a man. My dormitory companion had his first kiss last week with a girl from Wycombe Abbey, and he has been talking of nothing else since. It made me wonder whether you have ever been kissed.

Dear Mingi,

Your letter arrived on the morning of my birthday, so I suppose you timed it very well. Of course I remember the night of the glow-worms. We were both covered in bites the next morning, but it was worth it. I still have the jar, though the glow-worm did not live very long.

I have not been kissed. There is one person I would like to kiss, but unfortunately the distance between us makes it rather difficult.

I suppose I shall have to wait until July.

Q: When do you feel most responsible for the other members of the team?
Hongjoong: It’s when one of the members is going through a difficult time. With eight of us, we’re not all going to laugh on the same day or struggle on the same day. Each person experiences their own emotions at unexpected times, separate from how well an album is doing or what we may have accomplished together. That’s when the sense of responsibility really sets in. If I notice one person standing a little apart, almost like he’s by himself facing the wall while six of us are laughing, it stays with me. It’s not so much about trying to be a good leader in moments like that. I want to be a good older brother to the members I’m sharing all of this with.

Q:As the captain, are there moments when your responsibility to represent ATEEZ conflicts with your desire to express something more individual or unresolved?
Hongjoong: There are certainly moments like that, but I’ve never seen that tension as something that weighs me down. In many cases, working through that conflict actually helps me make better sense of both my responsibilities and my personal thoughts, and channel them in a more positive direction. The captain’s armband means a lot to me, and I wouldn’t want to portray it as something that limits me or takes away from who I am.
