forgive the galaxy brain style "take", but Gabe Kidd's act in this G1 is genuinely a lot more nuanced than it's getting credit for. If you watch closely he's subtly tweaking his approach and behaviour during his matches depending on his opponent and his relationship with them.

OK for my preferred scenario to work out I need Shingo to beat Takeshita and Oiwa to win out. I really want Oiwa beating Takeshita on the final night of A Block to qualify for the semis along with Tsuji. Nothing against Takeshita but I really think you can do a lot with Tsuji and Oiwa
Tsuji vs. Oiwa was outstanding!!! That was proper stuff right there. I may have mixed feelings on the Tsuji/Ice match, but the way it played into this match makes it work for me more. Tsuji is delivering like a world champion should and I remain steadfast that he should win this G1.
It's great knowing someone like Trevor who can take my thoughts and feelings and express them for me in a manner far more effective than I ever could. This is a brilliant piece of writing.

SANADA has been surprisingly good in this G1 (admittedly expectations were exceedingly low) however I cannot stress just how much I agree with them having Oleg fucking steamroll him today. A complete and utter squash and something that I wouldn't have given NJPW credit for being smart enough to do.
Main event time! Korakuen is HOT, orange seats are full to the back wall and I am pumped!
Yuma Anzai & Shota Kofuji vs. Atsuki Aoyagi & Rising Hayato from July 19 was bloody great. It's unbelievable how Anzai can transition between working a match like that and throwing lumber with the big heavyweights. The man can do it all, he's 6'5, movie star looks, and just 27 years old still

AJPW Junior Battle Of Glory lineup kinda rocks. Thing this might be a tournament I need to lock in on. I love that they are not shy about including dudes are like 210 lbs and wouldn't dive into a swimming pool never mind in a wrestling match. Some real heavy hitters!

Loved Ospreay vs. Garcia on Collision! That was real great stuff. One of my favourite AEW TV matches in a while.
Very disappointed that the upcoming CMLL shows don't feature a Brian Cage/Leon Cage tag team.
Watching July 19th AJPW Korakuen and the Joe Doering tribute was lovely. I forgot about what an absolutely class theme song he had! Very fitting of the man.
