Something missing from that "old TV was good/bad" discussion a few days back was how amazing it felt to be smug about not owning a TV back then. Real s-tier way to feel superior and baffle/alienate people.

I can sit up enough now to work on the Spectra project again -- I was able to get a photo out of it by loading the film and battery from a new 600 pack into an old cartridge. Result are mixed. Image on the left is from the Spectra, image on the right is from one of the junkier Spirit 600s.

Geeze — a few days shy of fifty one. Now is all you have, etc. 2011 was, in retrospect, kind of a dark time for me, but those song are chiseled in memories of wandering the streets at 2:30am making my way home and I don’t regret hearing the songs.

Going down a cold type rat hole today -- IBM Selectric Composer. Proper "serious" typefaces were cut into a type ball that could be swapped out. The typesetter would need to type out a test line to get a justification number, set that number, and then type it out again to get a justified line.
