It’s tempting to believe fictions when facts are difficult to face, particularly when leaders promote fictions we’d like to believe.
The word "communists" was used against abolitionists in the 1850's, during the Red Scare of the early 1920's, by McCarthy in the 1950's, during the Cold War, and now against Democrats by Republicans. It's an old rhetorical trick and keeps getting used because if often works.
There’s never been a reality Trump didn’t like that he didn’t change into one that he did or pretend that it didn’t exist.
It’s mind boggling how so many will justify doing evil once convinced that doing evil is necessary in the fight for righteousness.
