im sorry to complain about this sorta thing again but the way Sonic fans have such little faith in the series that even when it has a genuine win they have to stretch so hard to make it seem as if it shouldn't count is kind of depressing.

i think there's a dash of truth to "male gaze" being used as a criticism of certain designs (under very specific contexts) but i feel like the fact people immediately jump to going on about that over any female character with assets on display says a lot more about them than anything.
