Unapologetic worm lover. I am a real doctor (phd) but I'm not a real worm. Current Adjunct Professor of Microbiology.

It's kinda funny to think that my extremely specific habit of writing down every single gas transaction I do with date, mileage, price, total cost, etc may someday be extremely exciting for future historians. Now, however, it's very annoying to see the price of gas jump 70c in my notebook.

Guitars are like cats. You find one abandoned on the street, take it home, clean it up, give it lots of attention, play with it... then think "hey, this guitar could use a friend..."

[bloodlines 2 meeting with a bunch of suits] "okay, we got vampires, we got magic powers, we got a gritty city, weird characters, what else did the first game have?" "game-breaking bugs?" "WRITE THAT DOWN!"

The most terrible news for my students. Making them give short summaries on random microbio topics made their grades go up on the following exam. So now they’re going to have to do it for the next exam.

Yes, I've often thought I'd be happier if I were religious and could believe in a lot of the current "demonstratively religious politicians" being pimp slapped by the deity shortly after their funerals and then sent somewhere very, very hot.

Well, I have three months of medication in my refrigerator, so I guess I have about that long to find a job. It's cool that all the places I would get a science job rely on NIH funding. Is anyone looking for a singer? Copy editor?

I was making my mom a blog and there was a button for using AI to design it and she wanted to see what would happen if I clicked the button. Long story short, I am now spending my time undoing everything the AI did.

I think I need to admit that I understand the rationale and reasoning behind the Elden Ring shattering politics a lot better than whatever the fuck is going on in the US. And I got the Elden Ring politics info from reading the lore on item descriptions.

Something I'm realizing is entirely a "me" problem is frustration when confronted by an array of hygeine/beauty products claiming to do various things because they don't come with a paper proving how they work.

On the one hand, cats are bundles of joy and everyone should get one. On the other hand, they train you to ignore suspicious thumps in your house at 1 am. Probably worth it.
