Alexei is someone I didn’t come up with, but a choice I was given. Over time, I connected with him. The connection is out of adoration and not familiarity. I gave him qualities I didn’t have; confidence, charisma, happiness, looks. He’s everything I will never be.
Another year missing pride. All my years of being out and proud, yet I feel very intimidated by pride and don’t feel like I belong.

Pride is always a struggle for me, not because I’m not proud of who I am, but because I have never felt like I belong to any of the communities I associate within the LGBTQ+ community. It’s also a stark reminder of how alone I really am & the only friend I’ll truly have is myself. #pride
