A sometimes unserious photo journal ✶ ✶ ✶ ✶ Chicago, IL graphic and web designer, traveler, zone 6A gardener, architecture enthusiast, and scooter nerd. Stay curious. 🐕🚀💫🌿🌻✈️🛵🌈🇺🇸🇬🇧
I’m pretty extra about baths. Light a candle, throw in some salts, a cold crispy drink in hand. Today, I took it to a new level: body tea 🫖🛀 inspired by a giant tea infuser ball I found at a Korean market. Submerged in boiling water and steeped for a few hours before using, and it smelled HEAVENLY 🫧
A neighbor left this at my door today 💚 it’s really cool that this thing I once kept private is being recognized and encouraged by the people around me. I have a sort of thesis I’ve been developing about the value of reconnecting with culture our European ancestors lost in colonization. Stay tuned?
My neighbor, Carlos, passed away last weekend. It is eerily silent in the alley this week without the cacophony of mechanic noise and music coming from his garage. He greeted me every day, and offered me whiskey shots in exchange for fistfuls of jalepenos from my garden and my company. I miss him.
Today I had a limpia performed on me by the sweetest little girls, and I don’t think my heart has ever been this huge. The feminine energy and joy in this room was insane.
My first batch of dried beans from my garden are processed, and I have about 21oz so far! Based on what’s left on my plants, I think I might come in right at my 2lb goal 🫘
Another extraordinary and challenging weekend sitting in ceremony with plant medicines and Soluna. My practice was solitary and private until I moved into Linda’s three flat. My garden led to an invitation into this space to learn and experience with this community, and it’s an immense privilege.
It felt like fall in Chicago today ☔️ gave me a chance to wear this vintage wool blazer that I picked up at a $10 sale a couple of months ago
Soluna is a wellness center in Chicago offering therapy, community, and indigenous healing modalities. I feel so privileged to have been invited into this circle, and to have my spirituality nurtured by such loving, knowledgeable women. Healing and growing and having so much fun in the process 💚
Harvest moon meditations 🌝 It was a confusing season, both for me personally and my garden. Many of the seeds I planted didn’t produce the results I was hoping for, and I’ve had no choice but to surrender control and find joy and gratitude in the little things. My body and spirit are ready for rest.
Processing rosehips for tea…and maybe some skincare? 🌹
It’s goldenrod season in Chicago, so I did a lil urban foraging today. Goldenrod has 7x more antioxidants than green tea! Its anti-inflammatory properties make it a great allergy remedy, and are useful to my particular health issues. I also found some chickory that I’m excited to use in a tea 🌼🫖
Tomato haul 😍 most of these are going to darken to purple, but we have a week of cold rain ahead and they’re already splitting, so it was time. Looks like I’m making sauce this weekend!
I’ve been craving this tomato sandwich since March. Finally 🍞🍅
Made kimchi with my friends last weekend. That first photo is so “mother,” I love being a woman. 💖
It dawned on me recently that protein bars are just cookie bars with added protein, and I could probably make them better at home Enter: modified Rice Krispie treats with oats, walnuts, almonds, chocolate chips, and Vega Protein and Greens powder.
Joined my friend Lola for brunch while she took her new Monkey for a spin 🏍️🛵 📍Avondale, Chicago
Look at the size of this tomato 🍅 had to pick it a little early because it started splitting, but it will eventually be purple.
The last shots of my 2026 garden at its peak, before I heavily pruned and pulled out some expiring plants. She was her most beautiful self this year 💖 grateful for another season cultivating my little oasis. 📍Zone 6A, Chicago, IL
Bean rich 🫘🫛 some of them are starting to dry out, and I can’t wait for this harvest. My garden didn’t produce as much as I’d like this year, but my beans are pulling through 💪 chili season incoming…
Every Labor Day weekend for the last 32 years, a few hundred scooters converge in Chicago for the Slaughterhouse scooter rally 🛵🐽 thank you to Vespa Clubs of America, Amerivespa, and the many travelers who came far and wide to make this one the biggest and baddest yet 💖
Heaven is a juicy homegrown tomato with some crunchy Maldon salt and fresh basil. 🍅
The carnival at St. Hyacinth Basilica is pretty cute 🎠🎡 📍Avondale, Chicago
