Today in “Hollywood’s memory is only as long as it’s most recent film”: Apparently the Hollywood Reporter can’t remember its own assessment that Sony had well and truly screwed up the Spider-Man franchise after The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

An excerpt from an interview with Sony Pictures CEO Tom Rothman in which everyone is pretending that their track record on the Spider-Man franchise has always been flawless, instead of more or less in the gutter after AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 at which point it had to be rescued by Marvel coming on as coproducer and Tom Holland taking over the role

This is already an unhinged take because Hemispheres and Permanent Waves are RIGHT THERE before Moving Pictures, but: Electric Version/Twin Cinema/Challengers 3 Feet High & Rising/De La Soul Is Dead/Buhloone Mindstate So Jealous/The Con/Sainthood

What's the best three album run from a band? (the correct answer is Moving Pictures, Signals, and Grace Under Pressure by Rush, but I'm excited to learn second place)

Cunningham was a superstar in high school and cannot deal with the fact that she’s an incredibly middling role player who comes off the bench in the WNBA and simply isn’t a relevant player. The only way she can get any attention is by vocally hating trans people.

The diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.

The Diarrhea Lettuce Company Has Been Linked to Forced Labor

The lettuce-producing Taylor Farms was linked to the widespread use of prison labor before its involvement in a cyclospora outbreak.

that odyssey review was pretty funny but also kind of like if wes anderson did the iliad and someone went long on how everything looks like a diorama and the characters have a flat affect and there's a general named "Gen. Greek Tragedy" and like yes i understand that is a wes anderson movie correct

As one of the country’s preeminent makers of a deeply unstable form of hand grenade, I am pleased to report that today I have decided the government will pay me a ton of money to create as many of these volatile weapons as is necessary to get them into the hands of every American

“A panel of advisers to the Food and Drug Administration, several of them sellers of experimental peptides, dismissed the concerns of the agency’s scientists on Thursday, voting in favor of allowing broad production of poorly understood peptide treatments.” @jackiantonovich.bsky.social

Heads up: Taylor Farms lettuce is sold under these brand names: Marketside (sold at Walmart) Earthbound Farm (owned by Taylor Farms) Cross Valley Farms (owned by US Foods) Private labels for Target, Whole Foods (365), and Amazon Fresh. AVOID ALL OF THEM

Remember when leftist dems were at least TRYING to push for the Green New Deal? I get that it’s a waste of time under Trump, but as I sit here struggling to breathe in Chicago, it’s coming back to me for some reason, who knows why

Joan Sebastien Guerrero had a social security number. He had legal authorization to work here - therefore, he is by definition not “an illegal alien.” In addition, DHS isn’t even claiming he “weaponized his vehicle,” they’re arguing he fled. ICE is now straightforwardly admitting to murder.

WHOA DHS does not say that the agent feared for his life… just the vague concern for “public safety.” So he killed him just because he did not want him in America, not because of any specific threat to agents?
