Somebody please tell me why Barca are loaning out their captain? #lfc

I guess we have a CB. Feels like an afterthought though. Let's give Hughes the benefit of the doubt, because why not. We don't have a good record with loans, Rosenthal being the last good one. Don't want this to be an Artur, Kabak, Moses repeat. #lfc
Keep seeing this type of report. How can both sides be confident of a deal and seemingly be about €40m apart? #lfc
We don't have an injury crisis in defence. We have 2 young defenders who've been injured since Sept and Feb respectively, a 35yo, and a player with long term issues who hasn't been consistently fit for 5 years. It's not a crisis if you can see it coming for 6 months, it's the path you've chosen #lfc
Richard Hughes catastrophic squad building will extend beyond this season, our lack of HG players mean we can't sell Jones and Elliott this year as we can't replace them, so they'll leave for nothing next year. #lfc
We're going to sell Jones and go to Palace for Wharton, and at they'll know we're desperate because we'll have 3 senior midfielders and Endo, and we'll complain about the state of "the market" #SmartestGuysInTheRoom #lfc
Ooh look, Bournemouth have managed to sign a right back. Maybe we should see if we can poach their DoF? Or maybe we'll try and sign this one next year for £90m #lfc
Spanish sources confirm Juanlu Sanchez to Bournemouth is agreed in principle for €11m+€2m. Sevilla will retain a 10% sell-on.🍒
Mad how it seems we can only work on one transfer at a time. Barcola's name has been out there for a month, yet we need a CB, a RB, a striker and almost certainly a midfielder, yet nothing but idle speculation in those positions #lfc
🚨@ FabrizioRomano: #LFC want to bid for Barcola and are talking to PSG. The conversation will continue and I think there will be no breakthrough this weekend, but for sure the conversations will continue and #LFC keep working on Barcola. We’ll see next week.
I don't understand people who "don't understand using AI" Why does everything have to be binary? There are loads of problems with AI and how it's used, but surely it's clear why people use it? Like all technologies, it's how people use it that is good or evil.
I don’t understand using ChatGPT for any reason. Glad I didn’t buy his last book
I suspect the student vote off heavily suppressed, I have a daughter at Manchester uni that couldn't vote as it all happened in the summer recess. No real time to sort a postal vote, if that was even possible given it's the time they change address.
I'm not even sure they can give that to Rio. I suspect there's no dubious goal panel in friendlies #lfc
When we play these stadia, I always wonder how they fit a football pitch into a baseball field. I guess in this case the answer is they don't. #lfc
I don't understand why our 2nd kit shorts are the same colour as our 1st kit shorts. Isn't the whole point that they are different colours? #lfc
What b*llocks (From LFC not Joyce)
🚨@_PaulJoyce: #LFC were in discussions for Barcola last summer, but didn’t press ahead with the deal then as they did not wish to block the progress of Rio Ngumoha. The exit of Mo Salah has opened up a pathway. Barcola has said that he will not sign a new contract at PSG and is keen on joining #LFC
It's a terrible look for Burnham if Jodrell Bank gets axed in his second week as PM, which is why I don't think it will happen. Keep on making noise.
Emily Wilson is furious they replaced Dobby with Neville #Odyssey
Incredibly poor decision. Not only is it of historical significance but it continues to contribute to science and works to inspire the next generation of scientists and astronomers. #Astronomy #Space UK's iconic Jodrell Bank telescope faces axe in science cuts www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Could fund Jodrell Bank for over 19'000 years
Andy Burnham urged to tax banks £55bn profit bonanza. Long overdue. Profiteering. Must end hidden subsidies too. Banks received £100bn interest from UK govt on central reserves, used for clearing interbank transactions, over last 3 yrs. EU mostly stopped it in 2023.
Short-sighted, stupid cuts to the UKRI budget include shutting down Jodrell Bank, the icon of British astronomy. (Many other cuts too, including 20% to our brand new @vrubinobs.bsky.social). Interesting politically to shut down a major facility in...um..Manchester 🔭 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The world's changed since 2016. Voters have too. Our polling shows a majority back rejoining the EU - especially those prepared to vote Labour at the next election. Add a £92bn economic boost to the table and case for rejoin makes itself. https://www.bestforbritain.org/time-ministers-caught-up/
Voters have changed their minds - it's time ministers caught up - Best for Britain
Voters have responded to a "rapidly and significantly" changing world over the past decade, with a majority now backing

Well, making these UKRI cuts happen would certainly be a good way for Burnham to get me hating on him big style, yep

I'm absolutely devastated for colleagues at Jodrell Bank who found out this morning that funding for the UK's e-MERLIN radio telescope array will be terminated. This is a short-sighted move, to save a tiny fraction of the overall UK science budget. #SaveJodrellBank 🔭🧪 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

“What will the Lovell Telescope discover/enable 20 yrs from now? I can’t tell you, and that’s the point. It will either be something extraordinary that none of us can yet predict, or we will defund it and leave Cheshire with a rusting monument to unfulfilled potential and discoveries never made.” 🔭🧪
The Anfield Wrap has managed to get an interview with Andoni Iraola. They are releasing it at 12pm today I'm so pleased for them because for the most part they were the least toxic and most fair to Slot last season Great move by AI to build a relationship with the fans. Can't wait to see it #lfc
